Would you trade Mitch for Ayton ? Throw in Evan for salary and the Detroit and/or DC picks ? Those picks will be like gold to a team who has so little draft capital. Ayton has the offensive moves Mitch doesn't.

Ayton seems gettable and the Knicks likely would have the assets to get him starting with Mitch plus. But what kind of fit would he be on this Thibs coached team - a doghouse candidate? (I say that with much respect to our coach btw - dogs go in the doghouse pretty much.) Haven't watched him much at all but from what I read his motivation is questionable particularly on the defensive end and he is seen as regressing overall. Seen more as an offensive player - is that going to fit on the Knicks? And then there is that salary. Similar to Zion, availability is a result of warts - do you throw the dice on upside? Simply because of the presence of Thibs I doubt it here.
