If he came out during that era he would be a top draft pick. Seems pretty similar to Yao.

All I see is BJ Mullens.

I guess they look a little alike but obviously their games or path aren’t anything alike.

For what it’s worth we should stay pat at 24 and 25. In a subpar drafts it’s 2 cracks at quality depth. It’s likely we only hit on one future rotation player, but this Knicks regime has a great history in this range when they actually draft. Quickley, Deuce and Grimes. I think it will be harder to land that type of quality because those were 2 deep drafts, but there will be guys capable of developing in that range. In the cap apron era, getting good depth later in the draft is extremely valuable and it’s how the Knicks maintain their current core but also keep flexibility going forward.

So anyway, I wish harm or ill will to any player but I sure do hope Dame and Giannis spend as much of next year protecting their health and doing all the Achilles heal management as possible. Like take the full year to ramp up.

2025 Milwaukee pick incoming!!!

I did not know this was a thing

Neither did I but it makes perfect sense that this is regulated.

Jamir Watkins from Florida state is coming out. He’s from NJ and signed to CAA. Played previously at VCU but had his breakout at FSU. He’s a 6’7 wing. Jack of all trades, master of none. He’s sort of the player who has found a role here. He’s projected in the late first to mid second round so based on how he does at the combine, I can see the Knicks considering him with any of their 3 picks.

I think Kevin McCullar fits our profile. Maybe a bit like Grimes, but more length and less of a jumper.

McCullar and Watkins are very similar in terms of skillset and profile. Either one (or both) would be great for wing depth.

We should have tanked right?

Toronto tanked, for this…

Tanking failure

I thought the NBA loved the larger markets? Did Rick mean "loves to fuck over"?

Nalod @ 5/12/2024 5:35 PM
I don't think Detroit tried to tank. They had injuries and the team is just not succeeding.
Toronto, they mailed it in the last 20 games. They seemed to tank.
Wiz? They just suck.
SAS, strategically it was Wemby and getting him ready.
There was not franchise clear player so not the year to tank.
ATL nailed it.

The NBA keeps reducing the odds. Parity continues.

Toronto 100% tanked and as much as I root for Quickley and RJ, I’m glad they didn’t get rewarded. I’d rather see if they can rebuild around those guys anyways.

Any conspiracies this year?
Some teams really moved up so league must have been up to something?
