What if these two wings actually become consistent, high volume 3 pt shooters at NBA average levels. How does the team improve ?

What if RJ becomes league average in the paint? I mean, Brunson is absolutely elite, yet he's smaller and less athletic than RJ. I'm hoping RJ gets some craftiness on his drives and post ups.

Separately, an interesting tidbit on Josh Hart is that has a Knick, he shot .519 from 3pt range on 2.1 attempts/game! He was absolutely lights out. Yeah, he could use more volume, especially if he's killing it like that.

Becomes average? What if RJ becomes average.

Then he will be average.

That’s not what we should hope for?

It’s hard to digest

RJ has some glaring below average shooting weakness if he raises his poor numbers while maintaining what he is good at he becomes much more effecient and impactful. I would imagine he could improve to above average in areas but that's my point RJ improving is likely the most reasonable option then trading for a all star

Also, dependability is the best ability. You know you can count on him to sop up minutes.

That was a baiting question. Martin knows well and good what RJ is good at.

How fucking awesome was the Celtics game when they went up by 2 at the end with 5 seconds left, RJ got the in bounds and then drove straight to the hoop for a dunk to send the game into overtime? How many guys in the NBA can do that?

How many nba players can do that? 75% can dribble and dunk

How many players do that with the game on the line? 5% or less

Clutch ranking for Small Forwards

2. RJ Barrett, New York Knicks

Barrett is the first player we included whose team has a negative net rating in the last five minutes of close games when he's on the floor. That's a significant exception to make, and it requires proof that he's not the reason for his team's struggles.

His 60.0/57.1/75.0 shooting split takes care of that. Among those who've taken at least 30 clutch shots (at any position), only Booker and Jusuf Nurkic have done better than Barrett's 60.0 percent knockdown rate. And neither of them has one of this season's 11 game-winning buzzer-beaters.

You might recall Barrett does have such a shot on his resume.
