Philly would ask for:
Mitch Rob
IQ
Obi
Grimes
McBride
RJ
7 1sts/pick swaps +5 seconds
For embiid. Worth it?
Embiid
Randle
Hart
Donte D
Brunson
EF - super 6th mang
Keels
IHart
Roby
I’ll be worried every single game he’s going to get injured. Triple the anxiety come playoffs.
I never view Embiid and the Sixers as serious contenders to win it all. Would things be that different if he was here?
It’s a pass for me.

Pass for me, but we could be pretenders instead of actual contenders

I’m going out the other end.
I like the general idea of this trade. I make them choose between Grimes or RJ tho. The idea of depending on Keels for valuable wing minutes off the bench is a no go for me. Embiid is the type of talent you need if serious about contending.
I'd do it but would prefer to include Randle instead of RJ and would only deal the superfluous first round picks we got from trading the 11th last season AND that lingering DAL first.
I'd also need to keep IQ. They have no need for him anyway with Melton and Maxey already in the fold.

Enter: Dillon Brooks
Every team needs someone batshit crazy. I think we'd have enough vets to offset his behavior. He's still an elite role player and could come on the cheap.

Wouldn't mind Brooks, but I'm hearing his rep isn't as toxic as we were left to believe and he'll have som suitors. Speaking of toxic reps, I haven't heard crap about Miles Bridges. He's got to be in play after the Miller pick.

I heard the exact opposite from the Hoop Collective gang about Bridges. McMahon believed the reason he didn't sign the qualifier because both sides had a "wink-wink" agreement to sign a better deal once the smoke cleared. I'm not sure if the rationale is sound but those guys are far better plugged than I am. I'd love the Bridges fit on this team as well.
I think Dillion Brooks is an a-hole but I think that type of personality is what we need to fully embrace our identity as a smash-mouthed bball team. It'd have some shades to the 90s Knicks, which would be easy for us to rally around; even if it doesn't end in a title.

PJ Washington would also be a nice fit too. I'm not sure if Charlotte are buyers or sellers. I'd like Brooks if he's cool being a rotation guy. His three point shooting is all over the place. Is it strictly because he has poor shot selection? I wonder what his spot up numbers are?
Id offer Mitch RJ, Randle, Fournier, Grimes and our 2024 1st for Embiid and Harris. Rare trade for Philly to maintain competitiveness, and they would have 2 first for the 2024 draft to utilize.
Knicks can lock in Embiid, Brunson, Hart, IQ as corner stone pieces as we build for a contender for the immediate future. With Harris & Obi proving if they also fall in that category.

Philly wants to run it back; doubt they are trading Joel this year
You can tell by his footwear that he’s been wanting to come here…

Brooks' shooting is all over the place but I think the fact he can hit them with consistency matters more than anything. Teams will still have to keep him covered, which would be a death sentence on a team featuring two offensive forces like Embiid and Brunson.
I've always like PJ Washington as well. The fact he got Brittany Renner pregnant though seriously makes me question his intelligence both on and off the court, lol. Thankfully Zion stepped in to take so much of the heat off Zion, lol.

Cool cuz we aren't in a desperate position. If there willing to deal, that's what Id offer. If not then were in a good enough position to keep building.
If Harden walks though then they pretty much should tank the year. Come away with a lotto pick. Will only have Embiid, Maxey, & PJ Tucker under contract. They can attempt to use that cap space to retool around Embiid at age 30 for a 3-4 yr window.
Josh hart is our Dog. No need for Brooks.
We talking trade for PJ Wash? LIke him for Obi?
The price for Embiid, the current MVP is justifiably high. But Im not endorsing this for knicks. He has no trade leverage and Just because he loves CAA and Leon does not change what I perceive as a biologically older player than his age. I respect he upped his work ethic to get the MVP and is now on track for HOF induction. But its the back 3rd of his career im concerned about on a massive contract.
If you are going to deal for Embiid most likely Randle has to be included. I’m thinking Mitch and Randle should get the deal done.
Melo trade all over again...the height of foolishness.
Mitch + Randle + picks...then we can talk.
