What a waste of a top 10 lottery pick
and cap space.
Loved Obi, but did we get more out of him than an undrafted good player would give us?

What is it with the Knicks and lottery picks (notwithstanding RJ)? Does feel like a waste. All I can think positively is they’re doing right by Obi. That and maybe Randle gets a backup who plays smarter and more consistently in limited minutes.
WTF that's all we got?!
Obi is going to do well playing with Haliburton.
One of the worst trades in recent memory. I thought we were past making shitty trades like this!

This just feels like Rose put his son before our team and moved his guy to a favorable team for a les than favorable return.

Saddiq Bey, Rui Hachinura, Chris Duarte, and many other lottery picks have been traded for second rounders in the last year
Love this for Obi, hate it for the Knicks.
Onward and upward I guess
Rather have had Duarte in return. Awful trade, waste of a lottery pick. Thibs just too stubborn to play Obi. Terrible offseason with Porzingis to Celtics and losing Obi for nothing.
Don't we get a player back to match the contract ?
The Thibs blame is expected but misplaced. Obi was inconsistent and his defense suspect. I think you could make a case Thibs maximized him.
But yeah I don’t like it either but I am going to wait and see what follows.
Today's a bad day. Good luck Obi. Will be fun watching your Indy highlights.

If Indy can absorb it, I believe we should get a TPE?
Those reports of Obi arguing with Thibs leaking last week dont look like a coincidence. Hopefully Obi gets a much larger role with the Pacers. Rooting for the kid!
We certainly didn't maximize him and can understand his frustration. I don't think he was gonna have a significant impact again this upcoming season. That being said who is available out there as backup 4 that will be acceptable to Thibs.
Watch Randle get injured next season

Knicks did maximize Randle into an all NBA guy.
Hard balance as neither guy could play a different position.

I mean the pick never really made sense unless they had a trade for Randle. Haliburton was the obvious choice when we didn’t have a PG and was project as high as 5. I’m happy for Toppin and hope he does well. Just wish we could capitalize on youth.

An argument can be made the Obi pick pushed Randle to become a better player. Halliburton is a stats guy who doesn’t win games. Just look at the kings. Brunson is maybe 30x more valuable

I personally didn’t like the pick but it wasn’t like Randle was showing us anything either at that point.
