Knicks · Who should we sign as an emergency PF? (page 3)

Randle is coming off a serious ankle injury. Regardless, contingencies need to be considered. Obi was a decent quality backup. I think it will be addressed.
BTW I can’t see Taj as a serious consideration at 38 except as the so called bench coach mentor guy. Which you don’t really need on this team.

I dunno. I worry that without Rose, Thibs will need someone to control the locker room.

I have no great knowledge but it would seem Brunson is that guy. And despite the fact that Randle “makes faces” there don’t seem to be any bad apples. I have no problem with Taj at the end of the bench though.

If Gallo gets a buyout i would like to see him back in NY. He can stretch the floor and occasionally play 5 if teams want to pack the paint. I think at this point in his career with the injuries he is a good option for 15-18 mpg.

Yeah Gallo was the guy I was also thinking about for that bench role

I forgot he was still out there. You think we can offer enpugh playing time or championship contention?

You know, Gallinari’s option should fit right in to the Knicks TPE from Toppin. I’d love to have him back. Otherwise, I see him going to a team like the Heat when he gets bought out. I’d bet we could get a second rd pick from Wash for saving them money and giving them the TPE…

I think the Knicks are willing to experiment with going small with Hart or RJ as the PF - both are excellent rebounders for their size. Plus we also have Mr. Cool himself, Jericho Sims, who looks like he's worthy of some minutes.
The Knicks look pretty fluid, without a big PF, especially when Hartenstein is in the game.

NY offers Gallo excellent Northern Italian cuisine.

Melo for the belated farewell tour?
technomaster@ 7/4/2023 5:17 PM
Oh wow. BOL BOL was just waived by the Magic today. Having him would most definitely take the sting away of Obi's departure.
Sure I’d love to have the guy but isn’t he really more of a center?

I agree with you but its more Randle insurance. The lack of forwards on the roster is troubling. We already didn't have a pure SF. Now we only have 1 PF. Its not good.

He basically plays like Carmelo Anthony. Or a young KP. Sort of plays like them on defense too. Haha.
Here are highlights from one of his big games.
