Same with Knox. Amazing how bad our scouting and talent evaluation was!

It was a freaking cult. "Cult of the mediocre". As the song says " ya gotta have heart". This kid showed little to none.

Knox was Fizdale's idea and an FO wanting to make their new coach happy. Who was courted by other teams.

Knox at least showed that he could get buckets. But those of you who said his motor was a big question mark were right.

Would not want to bring either of them back.

Unfulfilled hype, like Lavor Postell.

Haters won with Frank.

Some folks got it wrong, very wrong. Too much Love?

Haters are losing with Randle and Thibs.

This board loses when you turn a difference of opinion into an accusation of hate. Its easy and its weak. That shit got old long before you got here. It adds absolutely zero to the conversation. If your favorite player, coach, exec, gets criticized. Find a better comeback.

At one time, this Hater BS was all you talked about. A poster either hated a player or loved them, no in-between. Thats how you broke things down. Made for lots of drama, but very lousy conversation.

Yeah, well that was said two years ago and he ended with Mav's.
He is not setting the world on fire but he is still only 25. Charlotte did well with Dennis so perhaps they figure he'll be ok.
Frank gets some offense together he'll be a good role player.
I know we had some intense frank haters who said he was done in the NBA two years ago. Not sure why we make these proclamations like jilted lovers. Seems if he gets good it makes us feel worse?
Frank lives.

You and I got into a while back and I felt bad about it. Then I noticed you got into it with a lot of other posters. I don't care what you think. Please don't care what I think.

You care enough to insult any poster who doesnt feel exactly the same way you do about a player, coach etc... A hater operates purely on emotion. They dont think, they hate. Thats not how most of us here operate.

But you and some others too often make Hater your first and last word. If you believe this adds to the discussion we'll just have to agree to disagree. Saying it once in a while is no big thing. But you never let up. Its a cop out.

Im going to do exactly what Ive been doing for more than a decade. Talk hoops and ignore posters who make every difference of opinion personal.

When Frank was drafted I liked the story of the young kid riding his bike to camp in France. I only knew he had great size and read a lot about basketball and he played against adults in Europe. First season I watched him optimistically but with some guarded doubt. My fear he might not be that future pg, and he might just be a role player, was present in his second season but I pressed on with optimism and basically said " I am not going to believe my lying eyes ". In Franks first two years I saw fans over at PSD largely, form two camps about Frank. One, he was the next great point guard and if you disagree your an idiot. Second, folks who believed he could be a good 3 and D wing off the bench and let's cross our fingers who gets better. But the first Frank group became a cult of Frank believes. That was at another forum, didn't see what discussions people had here but I guess it was similar I guess. Frank was for no fault of his own turned into the Knicks Messiah by some and since he didn't lead the glorious revival, those who felt he would were too embarrassed to say they was wrong easily. It's one of the most bizarre things I have ever seen in NY sports.

If it wasn't Phil who annointed Frank the PG of the future, I dont believe the fan club would have been as big as it was. If Layden had drafted Frank...

They are similar as far as their skillset. But I dont believe Deuce believed his own hype like Frank did. Deuce is going to push himself.

Trey Burke's first game as a Knick (after volunteering for G-league). Trey had one of the best starts Ive ever seen for the Knicks. Everybody on the bench was jumping up and down, smiling, screaming, as he got subbed out. Everyone except Frank who had a scowl on his face. All I needed to know about Frank as a player.

What I remember about Frank was he would have a great game and then play underwhelming the next few games then get injured

Pulled groin shaming?

Pulled groin shaming has an ugly history in this country. Glad someone spoke out!

Frank did get hurt a lot. He was never known as a player who made quick cuts, broke ankles. Frank would have a game or two where he was more aggressive, but his body didnt seem to be able to handle more than that.

Spent a lot of time training offseason with the same crew in France, who didnt do anything for Frank's game or conditioning. Didnt come off as a player interested in pushing the envelope. Liked playing it safe.

Impressive how much you know about frank, whats in his head, and his offseason activities and drew conclusions.
In 4 years, age 18-22 he never changed. All you need to know about a person in one 4 year span.
My take? He never fulfilled his promise as a knick. Not as a lazy frenchman, but his offensive game never developed. He had 4 coaches? He was here in a time of turmoil.
Often we paint a player with names and as a villain so its easier.
Deuce love is we root for a 2nd round player than the 8th seed. We could have had Donovan Mitchel after Frank, Dennis, and Monk!
Frank believed his own hype? Kid did a lot in france as a 17 year old and from humble background has made 22million dollars thus far.
I hope he succeeds and carves out a nice career here or abroad.

He was Inconsistant and his body did not hold up. His body did not “thicken” or get that “man strength” that comes with time.

Frank is a handsome young man with several million dollars. If he bounces from the NBA soon he will be off to Italy, Spain, France or Germany to make more money, or Greece and China. I'll happily trade places with the young man
