I don’t think inflation reduction act had anything to do with it. Everything was already set in motion by Trump. They are using this as a political ploy.

"They".

All you need to say.
If Biden does something good its a political ploy.
Trump gets caught doing something bad its persecution.

Donald Trump has “the moral compass of an axe murderer”, a Republican opponent in Georgia said, discussing the former president’s legal predicament in the southern US state and elsewhere but also his continuing dominance of the presidential primary.

“As Republicans, that dashboard is going off with lights and bells and whistles, telling us all the warning things we need to know,” Geoff Duncan told CNN on Monday.

“Ninety-one indictments,” Duncan said. “Fake Republican, a trillion dollars’ worth of debt [from his time in the White House], everything we need to see to not choose him as our nominee, including the fact that he’s got the moral compass of a … more like an axe murderer than a president.

“We need to do something right here, right now. This is either our pivot point or our last gasp as Republicans.”

Duncan was the lieutenant governor of Georgia when Trump tried to overturn his defeat there by Joe Biden in 2020, an effort now the subject of 13 racketeering and conspiracy charges.

Trump also faces charges for – and denies wrongdoing over – election subversion at the federal level (four counts), retention of classified information (40) and hush-money payments to a porn star (34).

Many observers suggest the Republican party will be on a path to destruction if it picks Trump to face Biden again next year.

Trump dominates national and key-state polling, apparently suffering only minor damage after skipping the first debate – in Wisconsin last week – and indicating that he will skip all subsequent contests.

Most observers expect Trump to lose a presidential election to Biden. But polling returns close contests and also shows most Americans think Biden is too old, at 80, to serve a second term.

Trump is 77 but fewer respondents think he is too old. Many more, however, think he is corrupt.

Describing “a two-plus-year crime spree from coast to coast”, Duncan said Trump’s roster of wrongdoing was “like some sort of Ponzi scheme of lies”.

Trump is due to face a procession of trials in the election year, including in a civil defamation case in which the former president has been adjudicated a rapist.

Duncan told CNN: “When you have four trials to have to compete with on a calendar, you’re not gonna be able to, you know, skip certain days because it’s your birthday, or skip certain days because you’ve got a nail appointment, right?

“You’re gonna have to actually go face the music.”

I thank you for bringing up this topic. I am not very well versed here and maybe you and I can suss out the details of what transpired. Here are some key questions I have come up with:

- Was Trump's efforts done via Executive Order or was it through hard earned legislation that would be more, you know, enforceable?

- And what were the key details of those 4 Executive Orders that was the full effort of all Trump could accomplish?

- And how successful were those 4 very toothless Executive Orders for which some were cancelled a little while later or never followed for being largely ineffective?

- What is the main difference between Trump approving a voluntary program capping insulin costs at $35 for many seniors and issued an executive order that was never implemented and Biden signing a law mandating low prices and encouraged pharmaceutical firms to limit costs for all diabetics?

- Could an Executive Order - say, for example, 4 of them regarding Insulin - issued in July of 2020 just mere months before the November 2020 election be considered a political ploy versus something like passing actual Legislation?

- In your mind, did Trump finish building the wall across the southern border and did Mexico pay for it? Two-parter and mo for yo money.

Focus on that last one first.

How is legal weed in NY state? Any preferences? Indica/Sativa?

Was no fun trying to score in NYC in the 80s/90s.

martin @ 8/29/2023 4:55 PM
You want to know the funny part?

I did not know until about 30 minutes ago that Trump had issued anything regarding Insulin price capping. And then I used Google for exactly 10 seconds.

Nah man, thats not funny. That's normal. Someone points something out, you fact check it, your opinion changes. Now what would have been funny, ironic even,is if you had tried to fact check it and missed the date on the article and failed at fact checking That would have been a hoot! Someone might have even tried to make fun of you because of it. Oh man, what could have been...such a missed opportunity for everyone involved

Bro you were not just wrong but also you failed at the simple task of using google effectively for like 2 seconds. Even though you tried multiple times.

You don’t even pay attention to what you are reading when you take the time to actually do that.

Do better man. Like by a lot.

I admitted to both. But thank you for kindly rubbing it in my face afterwards. Classy

Classy?

ramtour, I don’t fuck around in this space. This shit has real world consequences and there are people out there spewing disinformation - whether by accident, on purpose, or for lack of trying - and you did just that.

If it takes you more than a couple back and forths and then additional tries with Google and you still can’t come up with simple stuff, you gotta start worrying about something else and start trying a different way.

fwiw, Martin is offering you some solid advice.

In general, it's better to put in the effort to be well-informed and avoid coming across (with anyone and in any forum) like a posturing opinion-slinger. A key facet of that would be open mindedness and a willingness to embrace information outside the boundaries of your preconceptions.

+1 to what Martin said...you ought to take what you can from it because it WILL help you more broadly than at UK.

You are absolutely right. I did assume that what I heard from the media was a fact. One should always check info for accuracy and I learned that lesson. I actually really like to get to the bottom of things. I didn't realize I sound like a posturing opinion -slinger. I guess I have some growing up to do as an adult

This is where I got my Biden misinformation from by the way

Go ahead and laugh all you want but this is a reality for a lot of people.

I have no idea of the veracity of this person's medical background or what he is saying or anything else but maybe you can come up with some better things to laugh at.

That's great news. I'm skeptical of the price changes surviving court challenges. I'm not really sure of the government's power to negotiate prices. As per CNN:

This new power will take time to implement and must still survive multiple court challenges by pharmaceutical companies.

Trump completed various sections of the Wall and acted like it was a done deal each time.Federal government definitely has the power to change copyright law as enumerated in the Constitution.

Let me re-phrase this to what you really meant.

The Republican Party will fight tooth and nail to deny the governments ability to lower drug costs for millions of American's who need the help that this legislation will provide. Except for the Insulin price drop that has already occurred, you need not worry about that portion of the legislation because it has already gone into effect.

Don't beat around the proverbial bush.

You get your news from a YouTube channel called HiRezTV run by this guy. He has a very appropriate Barbie flare to him. I would be a teensy hesitant with what he has to say but that’s just me.
