Pacers are low-key loaded primarily because Haliburton is a star that makes all the other pieces fall into place.

A combo of B Brown, Obi and J Smith works for salaries and then you have the 3 picks.

If that is basic deal Pacers still have nice young pieces PF Walker, Mathurin, Nesmith, I Jackson and Nebhart - to go along with Hali, Siakim, Turner, Hield & McConnell.

I do wonder about Hali’s body holding up long term - such a pencil.

Secretly hoping Obi will go to Toronto, not because I want to pull a djsunyc, but seeing our 3 young guns running together again would be pretty fun

Make for some good rivalry if both are competitive.

That team is entertaining as heck.

Interesting. I'd expect Netflix to make a similar move in the future.

Not sure about Netflix. I'd say Apple TV might be more into buying sports programming.
Max is streaking TBS. Keep an eye on that. NBA games.
Netflix has its genre and its working. They are making movies more now. More of what HBO used to be.
Look for more consolidations and bundle of platforms.
ESPN better figure it out soon. Cable bundles are shrinking. I do YouTube tv and its gone up 50% in a few years.
ALl I want is news, ESPN, TBS, NBA TV and its where I get my league pass which works great on that platform.
What goes around comes around. I cut the cord, but my savings is not permanent.
youtube is 70$ a month now, so if I cut that, can I get the other stuff? Not yet.

Minority stake now. Do Anti-trust laws still keep them from aquiring a majority stake? Lots of M&A these days that dont get much attention from the government. Hard to keep up with whats legal. Used to be more defined.

They invested some good resources into the Poeltl trade last year. And I still think IQ will push close to 30mm annually. If he was asking for 25mm before and boosts his numbers because he's starting, than I think the expectation will now exceed 25mme.

The only thing is this jargon filled release I can understand is that SI is no more. Sad day, but I'm surprised it lasted this long.

RIP Sports Illustrated.......
Thought it was dead a while now but I'd assume the "Brand" will reappear in some form. Its iconic and the name should have some value. With hits staff in place It could have birthed ESPN with the right backer. Today, ESPN after a 40 odd years is retracting after decades of success. Thangs change and disruption occurs to even the best of business. Kodak, Xerox, IBM/Dell (retail), gateway, Sony's VAIRO line and of course that they could not take the morph the "Walkman" into an MP3 device. That Sony was about the most premier Brand of personal electronics lost the market to Apple, who was lauded for NOT sharing its software like Microsoft did. In the end, they found their niche and who have thought merging MP3, a camera, and a telephone would change it all!!!
Cable is dying and competition/disruption will keep happening. Cord cutting will continue to evolve and prices will normalize again. no more free newspaper, articles, or cheap movies. Consumers will again pay for content. It happening. NY Times figured this shit out and its working for them.

Poor Toppin. 11 mins tonight. 0 points or rebounds. Stuck behind Siakam, Jalen smith, plus their lottery pick Walker will get his chances. At least on the Knicks Toppin had backup PF minutes to himself. Not sure I see a future for Toppin in Indy despite being the perfect spot originally.

Ir love him back on a vet min. He fit with us but wasn't happy here. If he can accept a bench role situational he be great back

Unfortunate.

But the Malcolm Brogdon showcase looked nice?

the writing was on the wall when he was only playing 23mpg as a starter and got moved to the bench on a team that really was thin at PF and Jalen Smith was hurt.

he's an enigma, the scoring numbers look good, he's even hitting some 3's this season, but he's lacking in alot of areas.
