We think we've been good in calendar year 2024 but they have been better and they are getting players BACK from injury where we're having guys hit the shelf. No one's really talking about them as much as they should.
Strus isn't putting up crazy #s, but they truly lacked shooting last year and he adds just enough. Big upgrade for Osman/Okoro playing a lot of minutes in my view.
That said - while they beat the Bucks 2x and the Kings, they also beat the Wizards and Spurs like 5 times
I wanna know this too.
Is it the team or Donovan or both?
And by both I obviously mean that Donovan is taking things into his own hands and trying to 1-up Brunson game to game but also to rocket launch his own upcoming trade value to the eventual trade to the Knicks which he will force in the upcoming months. Upcoming

Perhaps 29 other fan groups can’t fathom our success of late either. They have DM and Allen really doing well and the chemistry of role players in age of parity is working! WE like to plug and play stats. “DJM Shooting 30% from 3”, we read that and we don’t want that. Although hawks are playing better of late. I hear you and we just assume we beat them last year we could again and/or we better than them. Perhaps, but there ascent with us has been impressive. I did mention this recently as I look at the standings and try to understand things are not always about knicks. Last 20 games of season are super huge. Play in can fuck you up and a team hot going into it can take out a higher seed of they banged up or peaked way too early. Nalod’s loving this season but the way things look right now we are prime for a bad spell and fans not really talking about it. They will react to it though. Lots of “We should have traded for……….” Or do the “Thibs over plays our guys”…… Knicks are not alone in minutes to players. Thibs teams play hard. Really hard. Its a blessing and an issue too. So IM ready for a bad stretch. Fans like leads then get angry when its lost or reduced. same with Standings and seedings. We surged thru injuries with a weak part of our schedule. How great has this been? Good enough to expect this is the norm. Its likley not in my book.
Cleveland has a good deep roster that plays hard and plays good defense. Very much like us. DM is a star but has yet to go far in the playoffs. Lots of reasons for that, but thats for another day.
As for others, Im surprised Indy is not doing better and perhaps they will figure their shit out. Magic was a nice story that has faded. Sixers are beset with Embiid issues. Meanwhile Milwaukee remains in good shape and I’d look for them to finish strong around Rivers. Its fun if its not to be, but thats their problem. Right now we are a freaking mess!!!!!

So by trading for Olynyk and Dinwiddie- are the Raptors leaning into fringe contending via the play in? What's the endgame?

Looks like they want to stay competitive. They don't own their own pick. Believe it's top 6 protected and there's more than 6 teams that absolutely suck ballz

That Jacob Poeltl trade was a disaster for them

Giddy not stepping up making Haywood trade appealing if he can stay healthy. Nobody out west is scary right now and the balance of power has shifted east. Knicks are getting really good grades on todays trade mostly because we gave up no 1st rounders. Not being discussed by the talking heads is the fact We have three starters out. Mitch has been mitigated by iHart's play but OG and Randle will be felt.

Id kick the tires on Gallo if Hartenstein needs to miss more time

Hell no, in my opinion. The guy is way too slow and a traffic cone on defense these days. Ilove when a team we play has him because he is easy to target.

Cleveland doing good things over there in, well, Cleveland.
Let my NY Mets fan Donovan Mitchell, mentioned for no particular conspiracy trade reason at all.

The Cavs must have had the hardest sched in the beginning of the season because it has been easy for awhile now and it still looks easy going into the future.

He looked good recently at center for Pistons —- Knicks scout trailing Pistons on Burks/Bogey recently hopefully would have got small look at Gallo.
I think it could help and another 3 point shooter filling limited minutes- culture fit.
