This crap is boring. I turned it off for True Detective about 5 mins ago.

Just watching this small clip gave me a rush of emotions. I really do miss this era of basketball. It will never be like this again. No flopping in sight and no technical fouls given. People who are not old enough to watch this live really missed out.

Turned on allstar game and caught Jennifer Hudson peformance. Very very good! Loved the marching band with her!
THe game? Awful. As exciting as watching a player in the YMCA doing scrimmage. NObody playing defense.
Launching shots from that far out? THe crowd was dead.
MVP? A joke. Means nothing. The honor is cool to be an allstar but the game is nothing. Not a thing.
I caught a few minutes of skills to see the floor. Edwards shoots with left hand and team is DNF cause he tries to prove a point? The whole thing was stupid.

Also, Haliburton strutting around like he is Magic Johnson? He has not done anything.

Not sure I 100% agree with him calling it accidental. I personally have no problem with read and react offense. If you get your player an open shot that is a win. The exception being a bad shooter who the defense is purposely leaving open. It just seems to me two different waves to reach the same conclusion.

The Knicks have been nearly drama-free for… years?

Feels good.

Best thing about the all star game - no player is injured especially your player. I think they should book the Harlem Globetrotters for the game and let the all stars sit up front and enjoy the show. And Jalen Brunson get the bucket of confetti and Halliburton doused with the one with water.
Nalod @ 2/19/2024 1:27 PM
Vaughn a good guy, sorry to see him go. He did good with the Interim thing and stuck but perhaps his idealistic manner does not sit well long term?
He really wanted to get Simmons going again?
Is there really any Net "drama"? LOL!!! Low expectations and they stuck in the pack with the others.
They should give the gig to JJ reddick and let him grow into the role?

How to fix the allstar game? Its all been done. No blame on todays player vs the days of past. Players are huge money makers (the stars) and they don't have much to prove beyond the honor of being recognized as an allstar! They played in the football stadium with kills the vibe. The skills contest, dunk contest and shooting are all stale.
Because of TV and a lot of games available (all if you care to!) there is little mystique to seeing players anymore. It was special for many reasons.
I get players are banged up and not motivated for the games. Read that players want to get paid? That tells you its not special anymore! Love a Brunson making it and its emotional but the game itself is a waste of time. Doc Rivers coached it? Lame. Let Adrian Griff do it!

World vs Domsetic? Nobody cares. White vs black? LOL, bad idea of course.........
Ant Edwards made a mockery of it. Just get rid of it. Let fans, Players, coaches and Media vote "Mid year all pro" if one must.
On the flip side you can realign playoff formula based on seedings to keep it interesting? Personally I love the play in and it adds drama.
Its not just NBA, its all the pro sports allstar games are a snooze.

Only one that really can be pulled off is Baseball because its non contact.

Nets are in no where land right now. They didn't trade their role players, but they still fired their coach. This is not a franchise with a direction/plan. I think its becoming pretty clear that the remaining piece here is Bridges and I can definitely see him asking for a move this offseason, and we're poised to make that move. Between the Bojan contract, Mitch (given they may lose Claxton), McBride and the 1's I think the pieces are there to get it done.

Anyone remember Ken " The Animal Bannister " ? I was like 11 when he was on the team with Eddie Lee Wilkins after Patrick Ewing, Marvin Webster missed the season, and prizes free agent Pat Cavanaugh missed a great deal of time, if I recall correctly
