You don't appear to be dead inside, so I'm guessing probably not.

As a fully fledged and probably a minority fan of Russ on this forum, please enlight us why this was a good move.

The only way I see this as a win is if they somehow get the bpa at 3 plus a future franchise QB. Or somehow we trade up without giving up the farm for cam ward.

I like Shadeur but he’s projected to slide into the teens, if we pass on him. How gangsta would it be to somehow get Hunter and Shadeur?

Why get 1 Jameis Winston when you can get 2 for twice the price?

I'm torn on Sanders. I don't want him at 3. If he slides, I think a package to move up and get him makes sense with Russ as a mentor for a year. Travis Hunter makes too much sense for this team with Russ at the helm.

I agree. The more I think about it the more I agree. 6’0 Russ had problems with his height but over came that with his scrambling at a young age. 6’1 Sanders was accurate against college athletes (NFL athletes are taller, quicker and stronger) and he’s not the athlete you would expect at 6’1. So there’s more risks involved with sanders vs Hunter. I believe Hunter has HOF potential. And if we are in win now mode to save the coaches job, and Hunter is there to fill a need in three areas you grab him quick.

1. Need at CB long term especially during special packages.
2. Need at WR due to his explosive threat every time he touches the ball, similar to nabers
3. Need a high confident player who can energize the team on and off the field.

Then you trade back into the 1st round if needed to get your QB of the future. Or trade down, gather more picks for a trade up strategy next year for Archie manning or the qb of the future. Use this draft to finish building out the team so when next year comes we are only a QB away from being a solid playoff team again.

I like the Giants signing Wilson, but I don’t see how they are any closer to being competitive than the Jets were last year. It’s stop gap at best. What is their path to the playoffs? Are they better than either Philly or Washington? No. How are they going to get enough wins to get in then?

Would rather start Winston than Wilson. I think Wilson is closer to Daniel Jones now than what he was 5 years ago. Winston is a modern day Jeff George.

I see us as being bad to mediocre next year no matter what - my hope is that the QB helps the recievers develop. Give me someone who isn't afraid to throw the ball downfield so Nabers, Robinson, Hyatt etc. really come into their own. INTs be damned, get the ball out there! That is Winston. Wilson has become a little gun shy in my opinion.

Either way I hope this means we have the freedom to draft a generational talent like Travis Hunter now. I do like Cam Ward, but Hunter is the best player in the draft and there are good QBs coming next year.
