From how the roster was built to the coaching to the gameplan to how the individual players are playing, it's the worst. And we've seen McAdoo, Shurmur and Judge all within the last 10 years.

And you can't keep firing coaches every two years so we're kind of stuck.

I want to see a healthy o-line and JMS with a few more snaps. Probably should be a seller this season though.

Trading Saquon, Adoree and Leonard Williams are musts imo.

+1 to these three...painful though it will be. Time to recalibrate for the future. We're certainly not re-signing any of these guys.

I'd add McKinney to this list too.

Is it too soon to start talking about the draft? I was at the Carolina game Saturday and Drake Maye could be the answer.

Never too early when you're 1-5 but the schedule eases up the next six weeks before the bye.

I feel sad for DJ but the tank is on. Don't win another game and get that top pick!
KnickDanger @ 11/6/2023 10:57 AM
Not a hard core Giants fan but generally pull for the NY teams and was hoping for Daniel Jones to take that step and lead them forward...but Jesus Christ things went south quick and then decided to head for the equator. As a Knicks fan I can relate to dashed hopes.

We most certainly are looking at picking in the top 5. Arizona’s tank game is strong. They have a big head start on us and they are trying to lose

Quite a few at the bottom but yeah top 5 looks likely - meaning the Gints will pick 5th. Don't see them as an organization to intentionally tank. Don't know anything about the draft class but do they go QB? Do a reach after the first one or two are gone with Jones's contract?

Giants making moves. Shoring up the Offensive line, adding an EDGE. Looks like they can go all in on a QB in the draft now

Outgoing - Barkley, McKinney, Taylor

Incoming - Burns, Runyan, Eleumunor, Singletary.

Just saw all this. Never understood the Barkley pick. A very good running back but it isn’t the 1970s. Very good running backs can be had with later picks and FA’s and the second pick could have brought an awful lot.

Have always felt you build the trenches first and go from there. A good O line allows quarterbacks to be decent. A good D line impairs the other team’s.

I didn't want Saquon back. Especially at crazy money. I think he's one of the most overrated players in the league and has been living off the hype of his rookie season and draft spot the last few years. He's a good guy but always hurt and there are too many games where he simply did not produce. Part of the blame does go to the OL and the lack of overall talent on offense but it's also on him. You just cannot invest crazy money in a RB when you're rebuilding and have so many holes on the team. So I'm not the least bit sad to see Saquon go. I am upset that he signed with Philly. This is like your wife or GF leaving you for that guy you despise. Wrong or not, I do not wish him well lol. And it's all because it's Philly. If he signed with GB like McKinney did, I wouldn't feel this way. Also not sad about losing McKinney. Another guy who I think was overrated.

All and all, I think Schoen had a decent first day. I like Singletary. He's not Saquon in terms of explosive plays but he's solid and I think we'll draft another RB so it'll be a RB by committee like KC and Buffalo. LOVE getting Burns! That DL is scary with Sexy Dexy, KT and him! Also like signing two OL. Fix the lines first and only spend big money on positions that are true difference makers.

I don't follow football too much but does this sum it up?

Pretty much! No matter who we pick, 50% or more will hate it. Kind of like Knicks fans when we draft a player!

Long tradition of booing the Knicks' pick!

Supposedly Gints will go for a wide receiver. Reaching/overpaying for a QB seems dumb to me.

NYKBocker @ 4/25/2024 2:18 PM
Yup yup. I am in the pick WR with #6 side. It would be really stupid to select a QB right now when you have so many pieces that you need.

I agree but Daboll can develop a QB and if he thinks a star is there, I won’t object.
But giving up next years first… ouch.

KnickDanger @ 4/25/2024 9:03 PM
WR it is. I am not up to speed on the draft but glad they didn't get stupid for a QB.
VDesai @ 4/25/2024 9:06 PM
I love Nabers. I think he is Odell before the injury. Explosive.
BigDaddyG @ 4/25/2024 11:13 PM
This game got me so fucked up I can't enjoy this pick. The right move tho. We need this type of playmaker. Maybe next year they can get someone to take advantage of it.
SergioNYK @ 4/26/2024 8:53 AM
I didn't follow college football at all and just going by youtube vids and scouting reports but Nabers was my number one target. We need a WR1 and someone the opposing team will scheme against. And with Saquon gone, we needed someone who can break a TD at any moment and Nabers has that talent.

But I will say if McCarthy or Penix go one to become Pro Bowl QB's and win SB's, it won't look good. We need a QB. Daniel Jones is not it. But I think we will draft one either today or tomorrow.

NYKBocker @ 4/26/2024 11:44 AM
I still believe in Daniel Jones. Plus, reaching on a QB when you have the opportunity to pick a potential Pro Bowl WR is just plain stupid. This is the right move.

Plus, there is the financial of it all. Right or wrong, you just married yourself to DJ with that contract. You would have really messed up the cap for this year if you put all that money at QB when you need help at so many positions.

I believe saying they would trade up and get a QB was a draft day play. Nabers was the pick all along and it makes since. Good point on the financial reasons for not going QB in the first.

Rounds 2 and 3 was also grade A picks. Best safety in the draft and they picked a dog at CB. So far grade A across the board.
