What quarterbacks were available that were actually an upgrade over Jones? Cousins coming off an Achilles? I like Penix but Nabers was definitely the right draft pick.
You can easily find a list of the top 5 quarterbacks in the 2025 draft. Google is your friend

Got to fix all the holes in the roster first IMHOI’m a jets fan but I can’t understand the venom the media and giants fans(which are one and the same) have for Daniel Jones. Is he great? No but he has gotten the giants to the playoffs and won a playoff game without even an average team
Weren't you expelled for your rants the moment Zach Wilson was drafted?
Before he took a snap you were all over how bad the pick was and you first and foremost were about letting the world know it was about you and being right.
So how do you not understand a predisposition about a player and ones fandom being about "I was right" first and foremost?
Sure the circumstances are different. Jones has had good moments. But how you say you don't understand?

What is a Zach Wilson? Is that like a really sh1tty football player the people who know everything predict will be the next Joe Montana? Look bro I promise to take back the negative things I said about Elfrid Payton 4 years ago? What team is he starting for now?

Zach Wilson is your huckleberry. Elfred is your whoopee cushion. Its funny once.
How many times you bring it out now?

Nabers is way ahead of every QB available at 6. The only option is get him playmakers. Try to protect him and roll with him. They did this with Nabers and signing 3 FA linemen.Philc1 wrote:You can easily find a list of the top 5 quarterbacks in the 2025 draft. How many games do you think the Giants will win in 202425? It’s time to start looking at QB’s in the 2025 draft. It’s not hate it’s reality. The Giants need to draft a rookie QB. Some people believe that you need to fix the team and then draft the QB. I am in this camp and I think they are very close. We have good players in skill positions. The O line is close. We need an EDGE and CB
With DJ or Lock as our QB and our secondary as terrible as it is, we are going to lose a lot of games. We should get a high draft pick in the 2025 draft. We’ll have to wait and see if one of the QB’s is worth trading up for. Being a Tar Heels fan I already knew we should have traded up for Drake Maye but I’m not bent that we didn’t.

I am one of those Giant/Knick fans that think my team will win big in the upcoming season. I always predict my Knicks winning at least 55 games and my Giants going 17-0. I don't know what to tell you. I always set myself up for disappointment. Looking for a QB now? The front office is always looking for a potential QB replacement or for any position for that matter. That is their job. I guarantee you, the Chiefs are scouting all the QBs for next year. Football is a dangerous sport.
I do think it's hate and not reality. Reality is our current situation and it's not that bad. We signed Jones to basically a 2 year contract. While it was near the top in range when he signed it, it is now a middle of the pack contract for starting QBs. He got that contract because of that win in Minny in the playoffs. That's sports. Hey, remember Jerome James? Players that produce in the playoffs in their contract year gets paid the following year.
The line is considerably better this year. Any line will be better than last year. I don't think you can get worse than last year. Our WR room looks really good. Our RB room took a hit but I think Singletary, Gray and Tracy will do just fine. I am actually very excited with TE Theo Johnson. EDGE is fixed in paper. Burns and Thibodaux will go after the QB. The only missing part in the D Line is an interior mate for Big Sexy. Now our CBs, we got a problem. One of these young guys need to step up. Hopefully, Banks improves.
I think our weakest link right now are the CBs. Not worried about the QB. You protect him and he should be ok.
On a side note, Maye is put in the really bad situation. His line is terrible. He has no weapons. He plays for a defensive Head Coach. It's like Sam Darnold 2.0.

So we brought back Adoree Jackson. That’s not nothing.

McCarthy is already injured and Maye isn’t going to be better than Daniel Jones.

If there was a qb available at that spot who is legitimately going to be significantly better than Jones the cap doesn’t stop them from drafting him. I’m a huge Penix fan and other than Nabers he would have been a nice pick for the giants but Nabers is absolutely going to kill it for them and make Jones or Devito better
McCarthy is already injured and Maye didn’t look like anything special in preseason. Not a big fan of either of those guys coming out of college but then again I was way off on Zach Wilson and Justin Fields they became the next Joe Montana and Michael Vick

Yes. If there is a qb available at that spot then yes. That is why they were trying hard to move up to get Maye or Daniels. Those were the only 2 QBs they thought were good enough to spend on. In their views, JJ, Penix or Nix were not better than Nabers.

both? My sons keeps telling me I need to stop being such a fanatic. I said, listen, when my Giants win SuperBowls, it was the best feeling in the world. When my Knicks finally win me a championship, it will be such a euphoria that I might forgive Jordan for fucking up a good 2 decades of my life.
