Jalen is the one the refs blew the whistle on

Ok - I missed this one completely and let me guess we had used & lost our 1 challenge and couldn’t dispute —- WOW….now that is awful missing that one and calling the flop

Also this play, which I think lead to a layup?

There’s a zero percent chance refs will exist in the future. Hopefully replaced by AI while we’re still alive.

I wouldn’t read too much into it. 1) Crowd wasn’t really into the game. 2) Shots weren’t falling early. Just a bit of jitters, imo. Wasn’t spectacularly good defense by the Celts. Just guys a little hit off. 3) take Barrett. He does those same moves against someone without a 7’6 wingspan and he’s got 4 more points. 4) Knicks won’t shoot 47% from 3 or 56% from FT all season. That said, Harts shooting stroke looked fixed abs Barrett’s 3 looked pure.

Early prediction is that IQ steals QG’s starting job by game 10.

I still can’t get over this call

I don’t buy the he’s building up off surgery —- we’ve seen this performance many times over past few years.

Jesus - that really is just unbelievable because they watch shooters so closely and if you breath too close they blow a foul yet here in clutch moment they miss the flagrant and call a flop on us ——-can’t make this crap up.

Watching live - I heard Breen mention the Brunson flop but think I was disgusted and didn’t realize the flop was on Jalen’s own shot attempt —- imagine that was playoff game

LivingLegend @ 10/26/2023 3:47 AM
We should have got 4 FT’s there right?

What was time/score on that shot?

gradyandrew @ 10/26/2023 6:05 AM
The missed kicked ball for a layup and foul on Brunson's 3 we're the difference but Knicks can't really complain having missed 12 Free throws.

Jaylen Brown just signed the biggest contract in NBA history and clearly looked like the 5the worst player on the Celtics.

I think IQ coming off the bench is more tactical than anything else. He does need more minutes.

I'm still waiting for DDV to show something positive. I feel like?he's 0-20 including preseason.

Knicks showed a lot of heart to get back in this one. Maybe Thibs giving the team the preseason off was a bad decision. They looked really rusty.

I was surprised KP was such a force inside. Mavs have been training guys to shoot 3's a few feet beyond the arc for years as those shots are generally more open. It looks like it really paid off for KP.

Randle played awesome for exactly 1 minute in the 3Rd and Knicks went on a 10-0 run.

Regular season is all about maintaining focus. Knicks have to put it behind them.

I hated Doc. And I’m usually a Doris fan of sorts but thought she was not good quite frankly.

And both of those 2 feel like they take away from Breen.

Doc definitely talks too much for me.

Yes - respect Matt opinion but I felt Doc/Doris were boring. Used to be a fan of Doris but way too much blowing smoke up best teams asses and Doc is tired to me —- NO HUMOR in the group— think it was mistake losing Van Grundy and not a fan of Jackson as an announcer.

Yeah, same to all of that

Love JVG, but dropping Jax was a huge win by itself. Always going to be in good hands with Breen - pairing him with anyone neutral and you're going to be fine. Neither Doc nor Doris were grating on my nerves like Jax or Jefferson. Maybe it's because they were pretty complimentary of the Knicks last night, but I was into it. Not Breen/Clyde but just as good as any other crew.

Classy.

Nice answer, classy is right. But...I still enjoyed the "F*** Porzingis" chants last night.

Kudos to him on being the bigger man.

Never understood why he didn't want to be part of a rebuild here. He was really immature back th n.

KP was really open to coming back here, we might have given BOS the title by not trading for him. Huge miss, he was the perfect cheap star for this roster that would have left us more than enough assets to get another star later if needed.

The question was never about his ability. We knew everything he did last night was possible. Problem is staying healthy for a whole year.

A position of need with some risk. Team doesn't want to risk anything in a trade. So far what's the teams trade history... Riskiest move was the Reddish trade. Anyway we got Simms who improved so much per Thibs. Hope they figure it out and get a big who can shoot. Celtics traded their Mitch because they felt despite the defense and rebounding it wouldn't be enough. Our team is risk averse all in the name to land a star one day who becomes disgruntled. But what if we had made two trades to get KP and Holiday ? Don't know just frustrated. I don't think there is a huge star out there for us to trade for. If one comes available other teams have more to give up

HofstraBBall @ 10/26/2023 7:59 AM
Glad to see us fight to the end. Several points where the Knicks could have put their heads and given up. Although it was tough watching Knicks have the lead by six and lose.

Randle Mitch and Brunson had bad games. Brunson pounding the rock and missing was hard to watch. Randle seemed spaced and never got into game. IQ with good shooting but in the last 5 minutes we had too many guys just looking to score. DDV looked nervous but played good D. Liked that we shot the three well as a team and made a lot of them. Only reason we were close.

It's a long season. Looking forward to all of our guys getting going and putting it together.

stars miss games, KP was low risk/high reward. We had enough depth at C to afford KP missing 20-25 games. If all he would have cost was Obi and a 1st we really blew it.

This isnt us building around KP, this would have been KP here as an X factor on a team that is built with workhorses and could have absorbed any missed games better than just about any other team.

a team that badly needed shooting and spacing and a guy that could score in the playoffs and play WITH Brunson, KP fit all that. We missed the boat big time here sorry. I think the FO has done a great job for the most part but that was a huge miss and not only did we miss but he went to our rival instead.

You never know with Thibs. He sees the game from a different set of lenses (right or wrong). Plus the FO sees Mitch and his defense more important than a 3 pt shooting big. Just look at EF on the sideline. Clearly shooting 3s is not the only criteria for Thibs so who knows.

But as a fan I see your point with KP. I never liked how he left and always felt like we should bring him back. But again it’s fans vs Thibs /FO. And our FO is never available to talk so we don’t know what they are thinking.

nycericanguy @ 10/26/2023 8:09 AM
KP's spacing and rim protection won the game, its a very unique combination. Would have been a great weapon to have for sure. Been calling for it for years, when I heard him say he regretted how things went and would love to come back I thought for sure we'd be all over it. Especially given how cheap BOS got him. Tough pill to swallow seeing him light us up in green instead. You can tell he really loves MSG and misses it.

Alpha hit the nail on the head earlier when he said this FO is risk averse. They've done a great job overall but they have played it a bit too safe at times IMO.

the kicker is you can see how much Brunson and KP get along and they played great off each other in DAL. Randle is more of a "take turns" guy with Brunson as opposed to playing WITH him.

Alpha1971 @ 10/26/2023 8:20 AM
The front office wants to trade they say but talk themselves out of it each time I feel. Oh we can't give this pick up we can use it in a future trade. We can't give up this player because he might improve .. at some point they are going to have to. If Leon Rose was in charge of the Bucks or Boston would they have traded for KP, Holiday, and Dame ? I doubt it. Only trade they would have done was that below market trade for Beal that Phoenix pulled off.
