Yep - IQ was playing well I thought and Thibs takes him out for Hart - rather than Hart for Randle and go with Brunson/IQ/Grimes/Hart/Mitch to close.

Who I am watching from now on is Thibs. I need to see how long will he ride Randle. If this continues through the season will thibs ever bench him? will he ever not close a game with Randle? or is he willing to let the team die to not upset Randle. This is like a science experiment.
Clean @ 11/3/2023 11:23 PM

This is how I was taught to play the game. Clyde always talks about rewarding the big. Even if the big misses the shot you giving him the ball keeps him happy.

Watch out now…All this Thibs bashing may upset the site owner.

This team might need to make a trade sooner rather than later.
shinmen @ 11/4/2023 2:58 AM
I wouldn't panic just yet. We're not getting blown up despite shooting 40% from the field. 3% less than the 29th.
Shots will start to fall in even for Randle and we'll start to win some games.
The first 2 weeks of our schedule is brutal. We had 2 back to backs with just 2 days of rest in between. This is not your average schedule. It will start to get better soon I think.
ESOMKnicks @ 11/4/2023 4:10 AM
To me the main problem is that there is really no problem, but no wins either. The Knicks have a lot of hard-working character guys, but they are simply not good enough. The effort is definitely there, but the pure basketball talent isn't. The mediocrity strategy has reached its logical conclusion, the team has reached its ceiling as a borderline playoff threat. Don't really see how the team can improve from here on, as all its continuity and patient development has already played itself out. What you see is what you get. What now? Another rebuild?
Frustrating.
Clean @ 11/4/2023 4:32 AM
I don't want to hear anything about a hard schedule. Beating good teams are what makes you a good team. Sure beating bad teams will make you feel good. However, it will mask that you are not a good team yourself. Then we will get another rude awakening in the playoffs. We need to cut the cancer instead of ignoring the signs and waiting until the cancer kills us in the playoffs again. The longer it takes for the Knicks to realize we can't win with Randle the more wasted seasons we will have to endure. The Knicks need to learn how to sell high instead of praying he turns into something we all know he will never be. Randle will NEVER be a winning basketball player. Even his good games is him playing the wrong way but making bad shots that are not sustainable or reliable.

He won a major award

really thought we had the game won after that Brunson 3, would have been a real nice road W against what is probably the favorite to win it all, especially considering how poorly we shot. MIL just couldnt miss from 3 though.

The Thibs explanation on why Randle is struggling so much makes sense though and makes me feel better.

nycericanguy @ 11/4/2023 7:19 AM
this team never quits, this was a game they could have easily packed in when MIL was raining 3's and we were shooting 31%. but we always keep grinding even when games look out of hand. That's the competitiveness of a good team. Once Randle gets going and the schedule eases up this team is going to win alot of games.

What Ive been saying since last season.

Mitch again with this BS? He's the only guy always complaining on twitter...
nycericanguy @ 11/4/2023 7:30 AM
I think we really missed RJ tonight on both ends, we probably win this game if we have him.
GustavBahler @ 11/4/2023 7:34 AM
I'm half expecting a down year from Randle. But his ankle issues, and the absence of RJ, arent doing his game any favors. Hopefully when RJ comes back,Randle's game will settle down.

Its clear Randle's ankle isnt 100 percent. The best thing Randle can do as I said before is stay in his lane. And not take his frustrations out on his teammates this season, if things arent going his way.

If we were to do a trade before the first deadline it would probably have to be a fire sale. Not worth it at this point. We could trade for a backup who wont be good enough to match Randle's regular production, but good enough to start, If things go really south with Jules this season.

Its his trainer and he's 100 pct on the money. Wasting one of the best lob threats in the league, who is busting his butt on both ends of the court.

Mitch spoke too soon last season. Going into Brunson's second season in NY, its on Brunson and Thibs.

whether its mitch or his camp, it's always him complaining on social media. He's matured alot since coming into the league but he's still very immature. no one else on the team does this. IHart doesn't complain. he knows his role.

and Mitch's role is very clear, he's not a scorer never has been never will. taking thinly veiled shots at Brunson, who carries this team and is the best PG we've had in forever is just... ridic. especially considering the success we have had since he got here.

nycericanguy @ 11/4/2023 7:50 AM
With all the offensive rebounds MItch gets, he ends up with the ball in the paint so many times. He could easily score more IF he had an offensive game, he doesn't, so he kicks it out or gets fouled and misses the FT's. It's tired. It's like he wants to pretend he has this untapped, underutilized offensive repertoire on social media for some reason. Just accept your role, you're great at it. stop blaming everyone else for your lack of offensive game.
nycericanguy @ 11/4/2023 8:00 AM
Randle is obviously in a big funk, and its very hard to win with him shooting 25%, and especially without RJ the past 2 games as well, but overall this team is competing every night against the best teams right now. I'm not discouraged.
