It was entirely a fiction that it was a back up power forward that we needed. We needed de depth in the front court. If any of our forwards misses a game, has foul trouble, or a bad match up the roster is not equipped to deal with it at the moment against a good team. Now if you want to make it so dramatic to compare it's level of severity to the middle east that's on you my friend.I just wanted the Knicks to be better then last season for entertainment. They aren't but they are still entertaining and competitive. Maybe they remedy the situation sooner or later. Since you brought up the middle east, I'd say pick a charity and make a donation. Whether it's to an Israeli or Palestinian because civilians are suffering on both sides and we should help as best we can. Peace and blessings ☺️🙏

Just a joke. Absolutely Peace and Blessings.

I know it's a joke
Peace and blessings man. My humor can float between sarcasm and dark humor. But the middle east is on my mind. What a complete cluster fuck. No one wins this neither side. Talk about a war that is a complete self fulfilling prophecy of war brought on by the religious Christians,Muslims and Jews from the beginning. So let's all enjoy Armageddon...smoke em if you got em. I told you my humor is dark

I get it. I grew up on nasty 70s humor - Monty Python, Richard Pryor, Mel Brooks, SCTV, Redd Foxx, George Carlin, Rodney Dangerfield...all quite cancellable now.

And as seriously as we seem to take the Knicks sometimes, they're ultimately a distraction. When they win a pleasant one!

Exactly. Sometimes when arguing the Knicks we are like the Knight in Monty Python who gets all his limbs amputated out of principle, but he won..

Its a fool's errand to keep counting on Randle like he's still a young man in NBA years. Its a long season, ankle injuries tend to linger. I hope we find another big, especially if Randle is out for an extended stretch.

Playing smaller players at the 4 can hurt us against bigger, deeper, teams. Will be exploited in the playoffs whenever possible.

VDesai @ 11/17/2023 6:27 PM
I think a good back up 4 to acquire would be Gallo. Bring him home. Doesnt need to play huge minutes, but can stretch the floor. We need some more shooting. Prob wouldnt cost much in yerms of assets. We will see him tonight.

I've mentioned that before. We have that TPE from the Obi deal we could use along with a pic. But don't know how that would effect the cap Maybe they can get him as a buyout guy after the deadline, Dont know. He is slow though.

didnt Gallo look fat to you guys? 6th pick sooo long ago

Can shoot but looks lumbering. I mean if he is released I'd take him but rather trade for a more mobile combo forward.

Strange it’s like people saw this becoming an issue after the Obi trade

Its always best to be prepared for all eventualities at least better then having a Isiah Robey in reserve. Now with RJ having migraines which are chronic now. Against a good team not having Hart, RJ, or Randall in a game is problematic. Get a vet or a young player that can contribute in their absence or foul trouble at least. Doesn't have to be a break the bank player. We have the redundancy to absorb an injury to one of our guards and at center. But we only have three forwards amd that " We hope no one losses time " strategy leaves us vulnerable.

People were going way overboard about this 4-guard Villanova alignment. I know the nba is now all about the 3 but it’s like people forgot you still can score points by posting up and rebounds are still a thing

I guess it's just fandom. Teams to be good can have a style and maximize it. A team to be great can do what a good team does but has the versatility to switch it up when another team or injury forces them to adjust their normal game plan A isn't working. I assert had we invested in a forward for the bench after getting rid of Obi ( PF or Sf or combo ) we would be 9-4 at least instead of 8-5. Over the course of a long season every win matters when your competing for a top four spot. We are a good team for sure. As a team I hope we get a good vet like a Nicholas Batum or Bogdovic from Detroit for match up or injury if it don't break the bank. I don't see a trade coming for an all star becoming available before Evan Fournier's contract being declined next off-season. So let's bring in a talented vet or journeyman with that contract

I’ve been hearing gallinari’s name thrown around. I guess it’s an ok idea to have him here for half a season as depth. He can shoot it and for some reason the refs go blind when he sets moving picks

Gallo might be fine but maybe DC buys him out and we get him that way or with a TPE and a low second rounder. Yet, there are other fish I d like to get at this point. All depends on the deal. Me personally I'd like to make an offer to Houston for Tari Eason and go young and invest in him. If not go for Bogdovic for Evan and second rounder or two. There are other vets and younger journeyman that will come on the market. Just would have liked the team to have already been stocked up. But anyway maybe patience will reward us. I'll think positive

Truth be told, he ALWAYS looked lumbering, even as a rookie. Like his legs are stiff, I dunno. Maybe has to do with his bad back.

nycericanguy @ 11/19/2023 8:37 AM
Gallo would be a perfect 15th man here. He's tough and knows how to play and at 35 understands he won't play much. But if Randle starts stinking up the joint again in the playoffs, I could see Gallo playing a Klove type 4 spacer role and stepping in.

Sort of like " Gallo Smash " ? Anyway I thought he was more mobile but I guess I hadn't paid much attention.
