Can shoot but looks lumbering. I mean if he is released I'd take him but rather trade for a more mobile combo forward.

Truth be told, he ALWAYS looked lumbering, even as a rookie. Like his legs are stiff, I dunno. Maybe has to do with his bad back.

Sort of like " Gallo Smash " ? Anyway I thought he was more mobile but I guess I hadn't paid much attention.

Weird thing is Gallinari only has about 2000 more career minutes than Randle despite being in the league 6 more seasons.

Not so weird. He's injury prone. He's actually missed entire season TWICE.

Trade Fournier and a few seconds for Bogs in Detroit, asap. Having a 40 percent career 3 pt shooter in the bullpen for when RJ, Julius, or Hart is out or when shooting is needed, is a depth piece we can exploit. He is the guy we should target like when we traded for D Rose a few years ago. Then my Bros the bench is truly solidified. Simms center depth piece. Deuce bench piece at the guard spot. And Bogs at the forward spot. I believe he has a team option next season too. If the nine man rotation is clicking then we don't need him. But he is there in a period of need. Maybe Fornier and the rights to Rokas...?

This is a trade that I think is realistic. And we have Detroit's second round pick this year... #31 or so. And we have another second round pick.

I can see that Knicks taking this type of swing.

This type of thing is all I ever advocated. Depth that doesn't take us out of the running for a bigger deal but supports the teams areas of weakness. We have the assets to make such deals without going into the apron. Free agents can be traded 12/5 or 12/15. Trades should be starting shortly. Hope our forwards stay healthy.

crazy that DET pick is almost like another late 1st.

so we have our own 1st, DAL 1st, DET 2nd, and I saw another 2nd from CLE or UTAH.

4 picks in one draft, gonna be interesting what we do.

Bojan still injured on the year and has been out at least a month with calf injury. So this one will have to wait til he is back.

I think we have #22, #23, #31, #39 right now. Not too shabby.

Hopefully Flat Earther decides to go off deep end of the flat part.

Grimes and those picks alone could probably get Lavine and still have all our own picks + some going forward.

Nice. We have enough picks to trade away for picks in the 2030s.

Don't have the contracts to match for Lavine unless your giving them Julius or RJ

From the Knick Knack thread

Hmm..wonder if Jacob will get called up? How will Thibs use him?

Ihart's contract can get us there.

or wait til DEC 15th and DDV or Jhart can be included.

but listening to Scott Perry it doesn't seem we are/were that high on Lavine.

VDesai @ 11/22/2023 10:43 AM
Bojan Bogdanovic is a premium player. He's like a 20ppg guy on 48-50% FG and 40% 3s. He is role is a starter/ significant minutes / premium scorer on a playoff caliber team. I don't think we have the right role for him if we acquired him. He's too good to be our 12-15 min a game backup PF. I think he'd also demand a lot back in terms of assets. He would be an awesome player to have, but I just dont see how it works.

Gallinari is a great fit because at this point his career he is a 15-20mpg guy and even if he doesn't play some games its probably not an issue. He fills a role a stretch 4/5 and is aggressive enough defensively to play in our system. Aside from backing up Randle, I actually like the idea of him as an alternative to the very defensive minded Mitch/IHart combo - especially against a team that brings some size inside as a way to stretch the floor. We know he is comfortable in NYC.

Alpha1971 @ 11/22/2023 1:33 PM
Bogs, what other elite team has space to give Bogs more of a role?

They have a matching contract and picks to give up for him ? Also time for the Knicks to consider blocking a team like Miami from making trades as well. We should have traded for one of KP or Jrue to keep them from Boston.
Alpha1971 @ 11/22/2023 3:39 PM
Saw Jacob Toooin draining threes in his highlights. If he can do that then with his athletic ability bring him up.
