These extra games should not count in the standings, it is an 82-game season, not 83-85 games. Imagine losing a playoff spot or seeding because you had to play the Bucks an extra time, lame.

Yes, they all would except finals. That game is not counted

Prize money on the line.

I’d guess that next year they will make a few adjustments, like getting in or advancing in IST gets you playoff tiebreaker status or something,

NYStateOfMind @ 12/5/2023 6:08 PM
I agree adjustments will need to be made, if you play extra games they have to have more value than money. Let's say we finish 50-33 yet Cleveland finishes 50-32, should we lose a playoff seeding or even worse, get bumped to the play-in because we had to play an elite team an extra game?

I think you missed my meaning. Even teams that make IST, they will all still only play 82 games. However, the 2 teams that are in IST finals will end up playing 83 games.

My understanding is that the finals game will not count as a regular season record game.

I could be off on the above.

ToddTT @ 12/5/2023 6:36 PM
It's still 82 games (83 for two teams). But your IST record determines who you play for a couple of those games.

Imagine being the Bucks, and dropping a spot in the standings because you had to play New York one extra time?

Ok. In Season Tournament is a success. I actually care about tonight’s game slightly more than I would otherwise.
BigDaddyG @ 12/5/2023 8:04 PM
Jules came to play.

Still remember the days I had to argue with guys who wanted to trade him for a second rounder. Good times.

Hart is a heck of a backup.
Clean @ 12/5/2023 8:08 PM

I am liking what I am seeing. Randle is putting in work in a must win game. This is how you get my attention.

HofstraBBall @ 12/5/2023 8:15 PM
Knicks packing the middle but leaving corners wide open. Difference so far.

Wow Julius! Wow JB!!!
ToddTT @ 12/5/2023 8:38 PM
If Julius shoots 100% for the rest of the season the sky’s the limit.
