I hope it is easier for people to see the things I was saying before about the old team not fitting well. This is early and we won't see the real team until Mitch it back but OG helps so many issues I had with the team. Defense already looks better even without Mitch. I mean it could not get worse than last in the league in December. OG loves the corners and he loves the opposite corner that DDV loves even more. That is what you call fitting well. He cuts to the rim. He is a much better defender on bigs than Hart. We kept our draft assets and I think paying him 35 to 40mil is better than 50mil to Quick and RJ. Fitting another/different superstar into this team is a much better fit than the old team.
We still have some issues we need to fix with the team but they should be able to be filled with good drafting or creative trades. In a perfect world we still have Quick off the bench. Too bad that option was never going to be a reality.

Knicks win 2 rounds and Randle plays well, then what's the next false narrative?
He can't lead us to a chip?
Question has ALWAYS been to the haters....who do you get that can do what he does (despite many flaws) at his pay rate?
I can't speak for others but my issues have been clear from the start with Randle. Effort, defense and falling off a cliff during the playoffs. If you want to call that being a hater then fine. I don't really care. I just want him to bring his All NBA games to the postseason and you can call me whatever you want.
LivingLegend wrote:OG team high +19.Outside of the typical late game big lead give away my initial reactions today were that OG’s size just made us look like a legit line-up and his D/length were as advertised in a league where great scorers still score.
The off ball movement from DD/OG was really nice to see.
D-Murray could be a big time add as Deuce/Grimes combo while good kids - they still look a bit scared out there and SO MUCH put on Jalen/Randle for scoring.
Good points. Jalen of late and Randle will have a hard time sustaining the production needed to compete against elite teams.
OG showed how a second team All Defensive player can affect a game. His effort on defense will also be contagious.
Props to JHart for defense late.
IHart with big blocks.

To go from NBA record setting bad playoff performances to reliable, clutch, would be major. Usually after ten years in the league, who you are as a player is pretty much baked in, when it comes to being clutch.
Randle has lost a bit off his first step, might be helping him avoid trying to do too much, less spinover madness. More methodical in his decision making.
Wow. What a game. OG is going to be a complete beast mixed with Brunson and Randle. The defense was night and day. He's a DPOY caliber guy and will transform the defense it seems.
Not only does he look great with Brunson and Randle but also the other Villanova boys. I haven't seen cutting and ball movement like that in forever. What we might have lost on offense in terms of pure scoring talent we look like we are going to make up with better team play on that end. Also, in replacing Quick and RJ with OG and more Nova, we are adding a lot more high IQ play. The team looked like a high functioning smart basketball team ala a Miami who plays well above it's talent level all the time. Something that is very important to counter Randle's tendencies. RJ and Quick didn't help us there.
I think Deuce and Precious will look better with a better matchup, Precious way undersized against this team and Deuce struggled against their top D ball pressure. That said, it looks like we could really use a playmaking point guard off the bench. Rokas would be a very interesting wrinkle into all of this.

Feel criticism is fair. Hate those flaws as well.
Don't know if you are hater. Meant the ones that hate when he does well and don't give him credit for the positives he has brought.

Jokubaitus?
Yeah, but we need one now.
Derek Rose ?
I watched Derrick against the Kings. It might be about that time.
We just beat the team with the second best record in the league, playing a new starter who just arrived in town.
How beautiful was it to see OG rotate from guarding Ant Man to KAT in the same quarter?

I am not kidding.....Frank Nit!
Would be another long defender and would get Grimes the ball in second unit.

5 and 5 vs the top teams in the league.

By the time OG went out the game both KAT and Edwards were too tired to capitalize. Jules also gets props for being physical with KAT early.
GustavBahler wrote:Missed the first 3 quarters, how did OG do?
On balance very good...he's a huge plus over RJ.
We are so spoiled to have this man as our backup center.
One thing was obvious with JB logging 40 and Deuce 7, Flynn may be the backup.

Wonder if Sims is healthy?

Got to give him a chance? Kid has had like three minutes
HYPED! Great win to start the new year! Ended a 3 game losing streak and beat the top team in the West!
Game ball goes to Randle! Just dominated! He should without a doubt make his 3rd All-Star team. His numbers after that slow start are insane! He made all the clutch shots. Wolves cut it down to 6 late in the 4th and Randle just took over. So wished he made that last FT and got 40. He also played GREAT defense in the post. BTW, Towns sucks! I don't get why some want him here. He's like a suped up Charles Smith. I hate his game! Too soft for my liking! He wouldn't survive here. Not an NYC type player which is ironic since he's from this area.
RJ and IQ will always hold a special place in my heart but I think OGA is gonna end up being one of my guys too. Rock solid debut! Showed why we traded for him. His defense on Antman and KAT was outstanding! Made 3/7 threes and had 3 dunks. Perfect role player next to Randle and Brunson.
Props to Hartenstein! Sick passes and 3 blocked dunks on Gobert! I cracked up when DVo missed that dunk. He ran out of vert. Brunson couldn't buy a basket but finished with 14 assists. Disappointed in Grimes and Deuce. Grimes plays scared like Ntilikina. Only having 6 FT attempts on the season is embarrassing. And Deuce doesn't seem comfortable handling the ball. Leon needs to get a veteran PG here. Is McLaughlin available? He changed the game and almost the game for them.
