Knicks · [Game Thread 1/1/24 @3PM] Knicks vs Wolves (page 9)

HYPED! Great win to start the new year! Ended a 3 game losing streak and beat the top team in the West!

Game ball goes to Randle! Just dominated! He should without a doubt make his 3rd All-Star team. His numbers after that slow start are insane! He made all the clutch shots. Wolves cut it down to 6 late in the 4th and Randle just took over. So wished he made that last FT and got 40. He also played GREAT defense in the post. BTW, Towns sucks! I don't get why some want him here. He's like a suped up Charles Smith. I hate his game! Too soft for my liking! He wouldn't survive here. Not an NYC type player which is ironic since he's from this area.

RJ and IQ will always hold a special place in my heart but I think OGA is gonna end up being one of my guys too. Rock solid debut! Showed why we traded for him. His defense on Antman and KAT was outstanding! Made 3/7 threes and had 3 dunks. Perfect role player next to Randle and Brunson.

Props to Hartenstein! Sick passes and 3 blocked dunks on Gobert! I cracked up when DVo missed that dunk. He ran out of vert. Brunson couldn't buy a basket but finished with 14 assists. Disappointed in Grimes and Deuce. Grimes plays scared like Ntilikina. Only having 6 FT attempts on the season is embarrassing. And Deuce doesn't seem comfortable handling the ball. Leon needs to get a veteran PG here. Is McLaughlin available? He changed the game and almost the game for them.

Only disappointment was Precious sucked.

It was pretty great. He seems like he has very good instincts to always be in the right spot, similar to Hart and Devo.

Was amazed how fluid they looked out there together. Plus they won w/ a poor shooting day from Brunson to boot. Promising stuff.

Same. I kept hearing ‘he’s just good enough to get you fired’ in my head. I thought he played great against us so I think he will be good enough in time for now. He is also a young fella. The type you want to develop

Yep - basic but beautiful basketball with good decisions from most players today

When we traded for Murray then for a back up 4/5.

I will gladly go along for this ride —- downhill, quick decision Julius is an animal.

A narrative that could change in a quick minute.

Heard some discussion today where compared Julius to DeRozan from perspective Knicks will continue to enjoy his production but if right deal presents itself he goes.

I can only say - I love watching Julius past 2 months and I’m rooting for him to keep rising

Keep the lithium tablets flowing for Julius and will be well.

I’m trying to remember if Flynn had any traction in the draft thread.

Knicks win 2 rounds and Randle plays well, then what's the next false narrative?
He can't lead us to a chip?

Question has ALWAYS been to the haters....who do you get that can do what he does (despite many flaws) at his pay rate?

I can't speak for others but my issues have been clear from the start with Randle. Effort, defense and falling off a cliff during the playoffs. If you want to call that being a hater then fine. I don't really care. I just want him to bring his All NBA games to the postseason and you can call me whatever you want.

Agree with Clean.

Anybody who hasn’t been able to criticize many of Randle’s follies probably also think RJ was an efficient offensive player and shut-down defender.

Bottom line - it’s a forum. Julius plays great give him all the flowers but if he goes in the tank I think he should be criticized.

What I see past 2+ months is mostly a wonderful player.

Yes - he wasn’t good - hoping for better. I expected him to be overhyped but he was actually flat footed most of day with little force. Hopefully just uncomfortable and/or nervous.

Maybe he needs a few practices ? But team shouldn't operate thinking the back up 4/5 is filled with him as of yet.

Glad we won that. Because seeing RJ and IQ in red and black is a sad sight right now.

Tip off shortly.
