So many options right for a trade, Brogdon, Murray, DeRozan and others who can deepen the teams plus a functional 5/4. Not a great back up 5/4 just a good one and the team can be dangerous in the playoffs
Man, I haven’t had this much optimism about this team since never
Can you imagine Mitch back and Murray off bench?
Fournier and all the picks for Murray.
Then you done.

As much as I want to believe DMitch makes sense here, DJM makes a ton more sense, may come at a fraction of the cost amd probably slots in a lot more seemlessly that DMitch would. You gotta redo the whole offense for Donovan. Dejuante isn't that dude and has other skills that meld into the make up of this team

Yeah - my 1st glance at the box score I see DeRozan with 28 on 10 or 13 shooting but a -25 +/-
Look down at Knicks and OG/IHart/Brunson all +30.
We had a bunch of unforced careless passes in 1st half that were frustrating along with a few more ticks-tac OG fouls. We reverted on the ball movement a bit (at least in 1st half) from last game - at least I thought we did.
Damn the bench unit now looks like doo-doo ---- Precious looks more like Hopeless, Deuce seemingly can barely get into the offense and Grimes is kind of like a pussy-cat.
At a minimum - we need a legit PG and a legit big before I-Hart where's down to the nubs on heavy minutes.

Murray ain't coming here to come off the bench 1) he's better than every guard we got not named Jalen and 2) he probably like it as much as Julius or Jalen would like going to the bench.
Now - would he play with the bench guys (YES) but I say he'd start almost certainly. Of course I'm usually wrong 95% of the time.

You right but a man can dream 😏

A big issue for a PG is if the D doesn't believe you will go by them and all the way to the rack - Deuce won't, he knows it, they know it and we know it.
So D brings heavy ball pressure and the kid basically does a bunch of dribbling near half court.
I love Deuce but I love him a bit more off the ball because not much happens when he is pounding it going nowhere.

Why not Mitch instead if you are only keeping 1? Asking for a friend.
Hart is making Mitch tradeable if need be. His salary could help get us Lavine if we wanted to. much easier to find a backup C then it is a star guard.
Thibs could play Murray like he did RJ. Seems like a good fit but the flip side is how would this impact DDV? He’s been ON FIRE.

i mean assuming we trade Grimes for him, Grimes 18-20mpg + Miles 10-12 gets DJ his minutes without affecting DDV's.
As the President of the Deuce hive, thibs is using deuce in the wrong way. He’s a specially player like OG who specializes in defense. The difference is he’s not a reliable scorer like OG yet, but add in Murray and Deuce slides into his normal role.
But I like what Thibs said. If we are winning and the only gripe is about the second unit then it’s a good day. I like how Thibs is giving deuce some time to shine. He has to show his value with this opportunity. He’s probably killing in practice as a two way guard. But only playing 8 or less mins is not an endorsement of confidence for Thibs.
So get someone in here Thibs trust with the ball. Brogdon has always been my favorite option. But how realistic is that? Who we giving up to get him? And why would they agree to trade him?
