Knicks · !!!FINALLY!!! (page 1)

Mad props to Raptors' Darko Rajakovic, saying F it and telling it like it is. The 4th quarter of that game was disrespectful to all NBA eyes. IQ makes a Euro move, definitely nails Reddish with his elbow, but that wasn't a fragrant, yet the ref told IQ that he swung his elbow intentionally at a level the replay clearly shows he did not and fouls out in crunch time. I think Barnes hits a big 3, but RJ is called for a charge despite being stationary, but AD just tried to run through him to get to the open shot, then LA went down and scored, a 5 or 6 point swing. Then Barnes takes it to the rim, jams it with defender contact, no and 1. Every time AD makes a move, it is a foul against the defender, some warranted, some ticky tack bs. All this and the Raps lose by 1.

Darko manned up, will take the fine, but called this league out. He said as I always say, sure stars need to be protected and might get calls, but other teams have stars and don't get those same calls because they aren't on the Lakers, Warriors, Bucks, etc. A foul is a foul, if home court calls don't exist for a damn good Knicks team, they shouldn't exist for any team. Call the game fair and stop will all the carries and traveling, it is out of control and the final score of that game just proves it. Defenders can't play real defense anymore, making what the Knicks have done in the last 5, that much more impressive.

I'm loving watching these Knicks, but if in the end, this happens in the playoffs against our Orange & Blue, what is the point of the season other than money for the league with their favorite teams they want to continually win? Preach, Darko, preach.

Thought this was going to be about how OGA is the next Kawhi.

Why are you trying to limit OG's ceiling?
EwingsGlass @ 1/10/2024 12:44 PM
I totally agree with this. AD’s TS% is totally biased by his foul calls. LeBronna’s also. It’s clear that the NBA has hitched its wagon to James’ horse, but that is a marketing detail and shouldn’t translate into on court subsidies. Knicks might have benefited the last several games. Probably to recompense for the Miami series (See Butler, Jimmy).

Expect the Lakers to get some “gimme” players at the trade deadline again. I’d pull Jarred Vanderbilt into a TPE if they needed space to make it work. If you can’t fight it, at least get your vig.

Sadly this is nothing new. MJ and Larry Bird played their entire careers without ever once fouling at MSG.

LOL, this isn't the same poster as the RJ is better than Kobe fame

Nah, you thinking about this guy.

Think of it this way. It's like paying a tax. The lakers are good for TV rating. Good TV ratings are good for the salary cap (players) and the owners. That said, The raptors are pretty feisty. I wouldn't be shocked if they claw their way into the playoffs. They should keep Siakam
NYStateOfMind @ 1/10/2024 2:08 PM
At least then you could play defense, look the wrong way at some players and it is a foul. If that is the new high scoring sports betting NBA, then at least call it both ways or at least close to fair. 4th quarter Lakers I think 24 free throws, Raps 2. Knicks had 29 total game free throws, so 24 in 1 quarter is insane.

I watched that 4th quarter and Toronto was attacking the basket, so that disparity is a joke. Knowing the Lkaers had this advantage, the last 5 mins was basically James passing to AD down low, either a basket, foul, or basket and 1. It was boring and frustrating to watch, yet they still only won by 1 point. Thanks NBA refs.

So two superstars getting preferential treatment on its home court is nothing new.
Dudes name Darko do have a way with words!
And one day when Barnes is a multi year all star he too will get calls.
Is it fair? Not really.
Is it a conspiracy of untold hidden secrets? I doubt it. But we'd like to think the illogical is.

Best darko rant ever about refs in a game?

NYStateOfMind @ 1/10/2024 3:07 PM
Preferential isn't 24 free throws to 2 in the crucial 4th quarter, that is prison sodomy. 24 to 16, I'll buy the superstar at home excuse, but in the end, a foul is a foul, at home or on the road, regardless of teams, player status, even on the moon, haha.

RH did get to the line a bunch. Big part of his game.
Winning teams do this. Lakers? They have two stars. Curious if it holds up.

NBA zebras are biased and job at their jobs. And it's always been like this and it will never change. I can name and remember so many games we should have won and lost because of a call or two. I think the NBA likes it that way.

After getting gang raped by the bulls with Jordan im not sympathetic.
Its the Raptors. I like Darko's spunk. He'll pay for that but hope it was worth it.
You want your team to know coach has there back.
Milicic rant was freaking epic in the worst way.
Thats a sort of Eastern European thing I gather. Did he cross the line?
Oh yeah! "If he has a daughter, I'd.........." oh boy!
He doubled and tripled down.
Funny, He does mother, sister (I think) and daughter but not "wife".
