Knicks · This current Knick team is good, better than last year's but... (page 2)

Wonder if Jaden Ivey is available to fill the IQ role -- we apparently loved him during the draft and his minutes/performance for Pistons have been sporadic at best.

Would at least give us a jolt athletically and maybe more but no idea if Pistons would move him.

This team is working very well together, a well oiled machine. All the cogs and sprockets fit well together and thats where the problem starts. For the 1st time in dacades, the players on the team have a defined role to play to make the team run smoothly. But if one gear is missing(jalen's injury), this team starts to struggle. The emergence of IHart filled the loss of mitch perfectly but if something happens to him the knicks have nothing to patch that hole.

Deuce have filled in admirablely in place of Brunson but Jalen just does so much more for the team that its just too big a shoe for Deuce to fill.

The only good thing that i see from all of this is that the FO still has time to make a trade. 1st they have to know what they want this team to accomplish this year, too bad this FO doesnt really tell the fans of any of their approach.

This team still has needs but whats the best trade to make before the deadline that is best for the season and for the future?

If you think about it - think I'm right here we are really playing down 2 positions.

We lost RJ, IQ and Mitch.

We have added OG.

Where we had a very nice center rotation we are now susceptible to I-Hart injury/foul trouble. Where we had IQ we've got a far less experienced Deuce who while a tough kid he lacks the ability to pressure the lane/rim like IQ did.

We have people playing those minutes but we really haven't replaced Mitch / IQ properly and that's what all the trade rumors are about.

The point is this team is always susceptible to injuries.

OG has been injury prone and losing all our depth in this trade guys we’re going to have to play more minutes and are going to get banged up. Brunson especially and we are seeing it now.

The team needs to address the guard position asap.

The teams ceiling is now a touch more limited. Come this offseason we are going to have $55MM tied up in OG and Hart with extension looming, so if we miss it’s a big deal.

IQ is and always will be lighting and a 20pt scorer, just a little shocked that it took as long as it did to being up and extension and Leon traded two first round picks and gave hard $80MM.

Are we better? Hard to tell. Obviously need Mitch healthy which doesn’t happen to understand how good the defense can be.

RJ is not a "making" guard, so it's OK

RJ is clearly a builder with the way he manufacturers bricks.

I have said RJ is a SG for years and playing him at SF takes away his one advantage his size. Look at how well he's playing so far in Tor, think playing SG has something to do with it? It always has on offense.. part of the reason it was such a good trade for Tor, IQ is obviously the prize for them but there's a real chance to rehab RJ and SG is the best place. Dude's a bulldozer. Tor got good assets we couldnt really use to their max and we got the swiss army knife we needed. Knicks are getting closer and their cap and draft assets remain in very good standing

What’s anti Knick?

OG is solid but injury prone. Is he worth $35MM, no. Josh Hart is all heart and an amazing chemistry guy. Is $20MM a lot for what he does yes.

Does Thibs play his guys to many minutes, yes. Are guys going to get injured likely.

We were in the conference semis last year, beat the shit out of Cleveland and honestly would have beat the heat if Julius was injured. Is it clear cut we are better than last year? The answer is no.

We need to be very careful right now, as we just traded two guys with value and have two of the best contracts in the league in Brunson and Randle and those guys are due for big raises.

Leon can not miss on this next trade. Indy got better, the magic are ascending, if we move Grimes all of a sudden are homegrown guys are gone.

above is a literal list of anti-Knick opinions.

MS is negative.
MS will find a negative spin on every deal.
MS will holds FO accountable for moves he doesnt like that Leon hasnt made yet.
MS holds onto narratives not based in facts or data.
MS uses fantasy scenarios to to illustrate what Leon SHOULD have done but failed to

MS is great and I love him just as much as he loves the Knicks. Now hopefully you can have a good day without phucking anything up too much

Why dont you tell us NOW how we are gonna fail in the playoffs or we dont have any homegrown guys or Randle ate all the popcorn at MSG
