This is sheldon Williams. Candace Parker was married to him. Now she married to Petra. Can't say I blame her.
Candace says Brunson is "Short". She right. Jalen is 6'2 , Candace is 6'4,
Candance is on a long line of many who disregarded Jalen Brunson as a pro. He proves it on the court his worth and its growing.
As far as him carrying Knicks as a superstar to a finals appearance? Remains to be seen. She is not wrong, but she is not right either.
Correction: Former Knick Sheldon Williams!
can we have a rule to never put a huge sheldon Williams picture in a thread again. It hurts everytime I see it.

This seems reasonable. I recommend the following guideline for max Sheldon...

Great comeback, not so easy to do vs. better teams. I will be surprised if we dont get some bench help by the deadline. The more I watch OG in a Knicks uniform, the more I appreciate how strong the man is. Really knows how to impose his will on the other team. Looking forward to seeing OG in the playoffs. His championship experience.
you know why? That's great coaching.
Wont mean diddly in the playoffs.
really? Another terrible take... does WHO you play in the playoffs mean diddly? Say would you like to open round 1 vs. Cle/Indy/Mia? Or would you prefer Boston or Phili? Does that mean diddly?
Always looking for a beef. Read my previous post.
yeah I wanted beef and got Rice-a-roni. The San Francisco treat. Toot toot. But seriously.. does seeding and who you play impact playoffs? Does it matter?
We've been getting Rice a Roni for the last 25 years! Maybe yours was beef flavored IDK.
My point is that praising Thibs for beating sub .500 teams is a very low bar. Which after 50 plus years of futility, doesnt get my pulse going.
Of course high seeding is a good thing, but we were talking about beating bad teams, not good or great teams. Thats when we should praise Thibs, when he outcoaches the contenders.
If anyone should be singled out in the coaching staff, it should be whoever worked with Sims on being more aggressive, fearless. Looked like a different player out there. Made quick decisions as well.
We got some pretty good wins there also... Min/Phili of late. Winning from down 20 vs. the Heat in the Tourney was a pretty damn good coaching moment no? (how could a coach like Spoel let that happen???) I mean we are 4 years in here and the culture is NOT rice-a-roni. This a winning culture and appears to consistently produce more wins than talent. Most consider what we did to Cle last year an upset and also good coaching. What does it take for you say "OK THibs is the guy..." conference finals?Beating losing teams isnt impressive. Consistency is. It's not the winning that says good coaching, its the never losing.
When the playoff comes, his teams underperform.
this is basic Thibs propaganda and just not true. Can you elaborate? Which playoff series left you saying "This just isnt the guy.. we underperformed" Atl? Did we upset Cle in spite of Thibs? I am honestly puzzled how a Knick fan who watches holds onto something like this.Is Thibs a good coach? You want him gone? What's your coaching wish?
well it's apropos... has like a 10 year shelf life which is about as new as your Thib's insight
Just try try eat less of it. Thibs can take the criticism, so should you.

Our defender’s literally got their hands/head on the ball 7 times in that one sequence.
1) Hart block
2) Precious gets a 2nd piece (block)
3) OG deflects rebound
4) OG gets hit in head with ball
5) OG blocks
6) OG deflects again
7) Hart saves ball going out of bounds.

That was the will to win. Is it fair to say we haven’t had a group like this since maybe Riley’s knicks? I mean 2000 was a great group- but they got lucky.

This play literally embodies what you need to do to win later round playoff games and you know that Thibs got a chubber going on after that play cause he KNOWS his team is on the precipice of that level of competitiveness. And he can show that video over and over in the locker room and then he'll prob post that video to his personal BBallPornHubs profile.
Not a dick joke but certainly a god awful visual
I liked the team a lot going into the season but I got really hooked after beating the Heat coming from down 20 in the tourney. IQ might have been my favorite player to watch, but like Thibs says... "Winning is more fun than fun is fun"
Seems like Thibs likes closing w/ OG and Josh. One is utterly relentless and the other an absolute menace.
Maybe Jules and Brunson dont need another star. Maybe they just needed more space and the right guys around them. Fun test coming up tomorrow

We need to add Mitch to that list. Imperfect offensive player like Josh but physically imposing with relentlessness and athleticism to match.
WILD. I can't wait to see those 3 with Jules, Brunson, Donovan rotating through.
I'd guess that Thibs was hoping Grimes would physically pop out defensively and relentlessly as OG/Josh/Mitch with some offense but oh well

It’s about time. JB, Jules and RJ was going no where fast.
Glad we didn’t rush into the d.Mitchell trade because I doubt we would’ve had enough to get OG who I believes impacts this team in ways d.Mitchell can’t touch. Now that we have OG, and our base is set, we are primed for a d.Mitchell addition or any superstar.
We finally have a team ready to make noise in the playoffs. It helps to get Thibs type players (OG/Josh).

Wonder if Mitch could use this time without his ankle to work on a partially serviceable FT%?
He’s a liability in crunch time without it.

Fan base always looking for a savior. All the while we grew two allstars wihtout the fanfare of the starphuch.
For some, OG is a let down because he is not “a star”.
WE look backwards. KAT is soft, yet his team is doing really well as is he.
WE look at Atlanta series with Randle and no consideraiton what the roster looked like at that moment and ATL knew if they closed on him we were cooked. Even Elf was fried by then.
DM on this team as constructed would be fun but clumsy. “Be Like Clyde and Earl”…..>WEll, CLyde was cool to sacrifice and was the defenseive guard that kept it together. Earl had knee issues and really was not the same player he was in Baltimore. He too had to pull his game in. While it was far from a failure, it did not aggregate. Not like the Debusschure trade, and while very early, seemingly what OG is doing now.
Why do we keep bringing up Bridges as if he is the missing piece? I know more is better but there is monetary considerations. Same with DM. DJM seems like a better fit if he buys into team first and defense.
No KLutch-CAA Harmony will do that unless he buys in.
“Stars” are cool. Perhaps its Randle that has to be part of such a trade but who are we talking about? Embiid? Giannis? KAT? DM? All very different and all will have massive cap implications. Since we are mostly unobjective about Brunson I doubt anyone wants to trade him for DM or thats even on Clev’s wish list but thats more logical than disposing of Grimes when we are frustrated and pander to media starphuching.
Given the chatter the Brogden- Clarkson thing could be our next move. EF and a protected pick might be the cost.
DJM? EF, Grimes and two picks could be logical. ATL wants three? I give them something but want AJ Griffin back. We need yoot. Does that trade aggregate? I have no clue other than the same Plug and play we all looking at.
OG unlocked the ceiling and the cost was two players that supressed the upside. Not that they lacked talent or upside, it was just not for this roster at this time. If DJM can be our guy then go for it. For reasons of continuety my guess is the window opens this year but it takes time to Gel. So its really about next season.
Champion contenders need time together. Wolves this year have health and time together.
I was really impressed with Deuce Sims and Precious. I thought those guys fought really hard all game. Bench is still a little clunky but it seems like Deuce backing up Brunson has been a big win for the team.
Sims was getting dominated on the boards by Claxton. Need to see him block out better.

Make that 2 chubbers.
This is kind of why I’m warming to a Bruce Brown - tough, smart, unafraid, can handle, pass, run pick/roll, gets in paint and can defend 1-3 maybe 4. Give me more tough, smart players - especially given Browns contract plays into the summer trade scenario.

My issue with Mitch is lack of skill, suspect match-up against skilled centers, limited movement, poor FT, and clogging lane.
Not saying he wouldn’t provide a BOOST but I also don’t view him as a smart player given is lack of any kind of offensive development (excluding hitting offensive boards). His size, length and depth would be great.

Would you bet a single $1 on that happening given he hasn’t developed his FT in 4 years? Not me.
