Lowry is the fat 2020 DRose, right? With like Velcro stuck to the bottom of his sneaks that stick to the floor and slow him down

Adrian Wojnarowski: The Hornets have no immediate plans to work on a buyout with Lowry and are expected to see if they can work another trade for him before the February 8 deadline, sources tell ESPN. – via Twitter wojespn

im sure they'll try but no ones giving an asset for Lowry and matching that contract.

YESSIR!! Get them!

We have two exceptions to negotiate with through back channels. Something to consider when negotiating buyouts.

I mean, it's something an agent could factor in when negotiating a buyout. "Hey, you could leave this amount on the table and potentially pick this much back up with the Knicks." I know it's illegal to tamper, but maybe they bump into their wives randomly or something.

I dunno, I think he generally is overweight/over the hill, but when he plays the Knicks he can guard Randle in the post, beat Hart to loose balls and cause Brunson to make turnovers

I think his biggest issue is that he had to start for the Heat. Bring him over for the second unit in the mentor role... could unlock our younger players a bit. Help the team mindset in the post-season.

nycericanguy wrote:fine with me, this kind of sets the price for a Rozier type. He's too small to have really fit here. he's having a great year on a horrible team but he can be really inefficient at times and doesn't defend.

I haven't followed him in a long time but when he was with Celts he was VERY undisciplined

BigDaddyG @ 1/23/2024 11:39 AM
Phuck the Heat.

this makes sense. I live in Boston and have a lot of celtics fans, and they all loved Brogdon. They love D.WHite too but...

Brogdon has size and clutch factor and provides another responsile, reliable ball handler

Smart incremental move

Gotta say, this source seems kinda shaky upon further research. Still... Phuck the Heat! That will never change.

Lowry fills in a true floor general void, short term upgrade over McBride, also a great mentor for him. Hayward fills in a needed shot creator, ball mover, stretch 4 for the 2nd unit.

That Lowry, Hart, Hayward, Mitch bench mob!!!
This is the way!

VDesai @ 1/23/2024 12:32 PM
Hayward and Lowry as buyout candidates are super intriguing since both guys are can do some shot creation/ballhandling and given they are over 30/getting bought out, bench roles aren't an issue. What is the cap situation on what we can offer these guys relative to other teams? How realistic is it for us to land them?

Those advanced talk rumors are legit smh. I just hope we don't give up anything of significant value

I'm still holding out hope for Dejounte.

KnickDanger @ 1/23/2024 12:58 PM
Hayward will be 34 in March, Lowry 38! Kyle is the Taj of point guards. Really give him credit as he is still averaging just under 30 minutes a game. His production has slipped...the question with both is what to expect in a lesser role? Of course if Brunson sits a game or so you could expect Thibs to play Lowry 40 .

At low cost either is certainly worth a flyer but does it keep you from making a move that would really help the team?
