I typically don't like the idea of body positivity models as NBA players but Grant Williams has had a compelling enough track-record in the league to make me reconsider. He's had success guarding Giannis in a playoff setting, which would make him useful as a backup 4 for Julius Randle. At the moment, his role with the Mavericks seems to be in flux, so maybe we could get him on the cheap.
Is Evan Fournier, Precious and cash enough to get him and Richaun Holmes?

I listened to a Mavs podcaster on the KFS podcast and he described Williams as being God awful and plus minus numbers backed it up. He was routinely the worst player in all their lineups. That said I'd still take a risk. But I think I'd want a something better with the Fournier contract. And this might be the wrong time to consider giving up on Precious with way he's been playing the last couple of games.

Mitchell Robinson has a shot at being back later this season. That could squeeze Precious' minutes at the 5 and I'm not sure how much I'd like him at the 4. It's what made me think of Grant Williams at that spot. Then again, Robinson will likely be rusty if he does come back and we likely won't have much of a margin-for-error that late in the season. Long-term though, I like Grant because at the very least he can be the new Evan Fournier for us in trade proposals over the next 3 seasons he's under contract. I think he'd have more to offer in this context on the court, than he does a Dallas team he doesn't seem to fit.

I don't know how washed Seth Curry is, but he has a deal through next year. He and Williams would fit nicely straight up for Fournier. Splitting Fournier into two smaller contracts would give the team more options.

Done deal. I feel like I haven't seen Seth play all season; so much so that I forgot he was on the Mavericks. Has he been hurt? I've been a fan of his since his SAC days but maybe he might be washed if not hurt. He's 33 and it feels like he's been around forever. Still worth a try IMO. Worse case scenario is he replaces Evan Fournier on the bench this season.

Can you say one positive thing about Williams? Lol
Do agree about Precious. Was hard on him early on but gotta say he has shown a lot on defense recently. Was not expecting that. He is still spooked when he has the ball on offense but may be just getting familiar with the plays.
Only fear is that it's that fear to fail non dawg thing. Which we have seen affect several talented guys here before.
As far as on-court performance goes, would you rather have Grant Williams at backup 4 or PJ Tucker?

Im cool with OG for now.
Good to see Precious is acclimating after a rough start. I know fans can watch 5 min of playe flipping channels and have an opinion. Changing teams an schematics is never easy for most players. Precious Im thinking was desired by knicks and obviously he is learning the ropes. Thibs won’t tell a player to “Go out and have fun”. He got that Larry Brown “ You a paid pro, im a paid pro, this is business and handle it” type. Take the good with the bad. He is not perfect.
I have no idea what is going on in Dallas. Apparently, he has not fit and has been terrible. He seems like he should fit. Low usage a physical defender that shoots CnS 3s well. He also fell out of favor in Boston despite the team playing well with him on the floor, him shooting the ball well, and seeming like a guy who doesn't make a lot of mistakes. I like the idea a lot. My eye test says he would be good here but I wonder if there is something I don't know or that I am missing.

Williams. PJ is washed. He should only be playing 3s with Taj
