Did not come here as a FA savior but has developed into a two time All Star and two time All NBA player.
His body language repulses fans at times and he told them to STFU………
Yet he comes back stronger and in season 5 after a slow start due to summer recovering from surgery he ups his game, cuts his hair, gets a sneaker endorsement, and reducing his arguing with Refs.
A trade mid season to being in OG and he is now an assist machine.
HIs relationship with fans is complicated. Is not universally loved despite the awards, or that he chose to come here, stay here. For some they want him to redeem for his ATL playoff performance. They were not impressed him playing on what became a surgically needing ankle last season.
Fact is he was bought here not as a starphuch but as an expensive prospect. Given his first contract he has fulfilled those expectations despite the bumps in the road. To me he has improved as a player and one of our team leaders with is work ethic and wonderful interviews!
Thank you Julius Randle, I hope you and others one day are celebrating your chips as your retired number hangs with the gods in the rafters of the worlds most famous arena and your son graces the floor as a player in the NBA!!!!
Not as complicated, but how freaking cool would it be if our 4 villinova guys won together this year an NBA chip.
Few get to win a NCAA chip or two (do all our guys have 2?) and a NBA chip but to do as team mates would be speacial.
Brunson High school chip, Ncaa chips, national player of the year, an NBA all star all might put him in the Basketball HOF alone.
(Its not NBA HOF BTW). He gets an NBA chip its damn near undeniable in my fan boy pea brain……

Right. Compare Randle to Amare Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony, who arrived as supposed franchise-saving superstars for a high price. They got the Knicks past the first round of the playoffs -- once. Randle arrived, like many others over the Dolan years, as a former first-round pick who had failed to meet expectations. He plays tired, he plays hurt, he's a team leader, and his numbers aren't exactly terrible.
