While shooting 39% from 3 for his career!! 20 ppg average. It's a steal and a wrap. We just need to get to the playoffs with a healthy Brunson. We would be dangerous with just our depth and him as a closer.
I thought Grimes fell, off both offensively and defensively (significantly on both sides) - some pointing to his recent #s but basically nothing clutch with big #s in some huge blowouts.
Grimes shot horribly in the playoffs last year 24% on 37 attempts.
While a great kid — he never settled down or added to his game.

Of all players taking +6 3’s per game only 4 are shooting +45%.
Two of the 4 are Burks and Bogey.
Burks has been +40% from 3 for past 4 years
Bogey basically +40% from 3 since 2017
Both players are NOT small —- good positional size imo.
That 45% must be on a specific type of 3’s —- corner or pull-up or something.

Not sure if this question was answered but will they play today?

They can but don’t need to? Players choice I think?

I mean Jalen , DD, OG, Burks, Bogey, Deuce with Randle occasionally getting hot out there —— feels good and hopefully our D doesn’t take a drop off.
I think Precious D has been SUPER - hoping he doesn’t just get buried.

Didn’t Piston’s play in California late last night?
And doesn’t everyone have to pass physical first?

Full health is light years away. No one is getting buried anytime soon.

It's kind of cool to see Burks, who was instrumental in our "turn it around" season in 2020-21, coming back to try and finish the job.

This is a sick (in a good way) deal. This trade feels like the sort of thing that teams like the Celtics or Lakers seem to make - where we somehow got borderline all-star talent for a bag of peanuts.
Bojan is a seriously good player. A bit like RJ/Fournier/Burks, but with better shooting all around, more of a motor, but sort of less athleticism (but overcome by his motor and aggression!). He can pick up the scoring slack while others are hurt... and help spread the floor when we are whole again.
Burks too is a bit like RJ/Fournier - kind of a do-it-all-wing. His special talent is that he plays like Michael Jordan once every 4 games. In addition, he showed us a few years ago that he can play "big PG" for stretches at a time - he can take a lot of pressure off McBride and Brunson if he shares the floor with them. Interestingly, we will have to rely on Burks at PG almost immediately - we gave up #3 and #4 on our PG depth chart and Brunson may miss a few.
Grimes, the biggest asset I see in the trade, was one of those players seemingly destined for failure. Whenever he had the opportunity for an extended role and more shots, he ALWAYS found a way to get hurt and miss out (Frank Ntilikina is the gold standard for missed opportunities). He started so many games for us. Then when it looked like he was emerging as something special, he'd miss a bunch of time due to injury. Like our other young guys, I'm sad to see him go, though I'm already numb from losing RJ, Quickley, and previously Obi. :)
