Knicks · If DDV was on the open market right now, how much is he getting signed for per year? (page 5)

Little things matter a lot to me, and two that i like with DDV. First, he follows his shot. Even on offensive rebound from such a basic play might be the extra possession to decide the game. Too many players get hypnotized by their shot. Two, he sticks his nose in it on defense. That’s key. He might not be lock down, but that’s not going to stop him from giving his all

He has been crucial to our success

out of control? You throw shade on my guy. Starks most TOs in a season was 3 and he balanced that w/ 6 assists per game and made the all star team. The year they signed Houston and Starks went to the bench he was 6MOY. Quick shot (DD is a better shooter), great drive and dish game and great on defense. They are very similar in style and approach. Attack attack attack shoot, attack attack shoot, attack... fine I'll pass

This FO has been awesome. The Nova boys. The OG/Precious/Evil DOnte trade. IHart. Even the Bogs trade. I love them all.

I recall the good old days of the Kentucky pipeline and then all of a sudden it's better with Nova

oops touched a nerve

maybe i should have used another phrase but i still have bad memories of his 1-17 or whatever in a playoff game. And that wasn't in isolation

i also have good memories of his lefty baseline dunk essentially over the entire Bulls team

wasn't kentucky more of prior regime, e.g., Randle Knox. IQ is the only one i can think of under current FO

the 1-17 was so sad. Every shot was good... they just didnt fall. It was so weird. Like a hex. The real pain was the game before we blew. It's def a nerve man that shit still hurts!!!!

This group has honestly brought back the love I had for that squad. It's the Nova version of the 90s Knicks with modern and elite role players. I really feel like we have a legit chance at a run next few years.

I recall the long gone, shitty days of the prior regime that included the Kentucky pipeline and then all of a sudden it's better with Nova

it's absolutely why we are better. Randle has also blossomed here but we signed 2 guys to be "guys" in DD/Jalen and they are literally twice as good as what we paid for. Josh I think got the bag he deserves. He's paid just right. His extension pays him $20mm a year to be a role player. That role? Do everything we need to win.

I’m also uneasy with the comparison to Starks - and I think maybe because Starks was an erratic outside shooter. Leave prime Starks open at the 3pt line and he is hitting the same % as if someone is in his face with a hand.

DDV is going to shoot open 3s and a very high percentage.

But I get the attacking nature of DDV - dude is wanting to win every time.

fishmike @ 4/17/2024 2:00 PM
Starks was also bagging groceries at the age Donte was winning titles w/ Nova... DD is def a better shooter, but if you watched him play alot their style is very similar on both sides of the ball
