IMO, if all return, 8 spots in the playoff rotation are guaranteed, Mitch/iHart/Randle/Precious/OG/Hart/DDV/JB, so if Thibs runs his typical 8 deep maybe 9, that leaves NO or 1 spot for Deuce/Bogs/Burks. Thibs should run it 9 deep and pick who fits best or best fit per game. All I know, if healthy, we are blessed. LGK

Need someone to spot Brunson's backup PG mins. Miles is pretty much it, unless Thibs runs DDV at backup PG which he has shown no inclination whatsoever to do. I think Deuce is a lock to at least get 10-12 mins behind Brunson.

I personally think Burks is maybe washed, but feel Bogs put into the right role when the injured guys return, will be valuable in that Strus/Martin/Lowry way for the Heat. At worst, insurance for a night off from a returning or game injury missed guy.

Miles might not crack the playoff rotation, but even if he doesn't, he proved he can be part of the Knicks future. He is confident, plays tough, hits shots, doesn't complain, and gets it done next man up style. His improvement since the trade, makes me feel if we give JB rest in a playoff game, we don't blow the game in 5 minutes like last year. The 2nd rd picks mean nothing to me with all our 1sts. Grimes without NY/Thibs pressure on him, has been terrible and again, hurt on and off for the Pistons, worse than Burks.

Since the trade, Grimes has played 4 games, Bogs 10 Burks 11, availability, especially short-handed, counts. Those 4 games, FG 25% 3PT 21%. Even IMO a maybe washed Burks is 32% & 29%. I hope Burks isn't washed, maybe some is pressure in games that now matter, but his release seems off and his few penetrating drives to the rim are not with confidence. Flat and short on his shots, conditioning? Bogs isn't here for D when the team is healthy, and unlike Fournier, he can create his own shot. Regardless, I feel there is nothing to be sorry about in that trade.

Lastly, DJM wasn't traded for a reason, ATL probably and rightfully so, wanted too much. Grimes/Fournier weren't getting that trade done. Since the Raptors trade, despite a ridiculous amount of injuries, the Knicks pushed their 54% winning to 64%, Toronto 36% to 37%. I'd say it was all win, even with injuries. In Precious we trust. Lets go Knicks!

Maybe at full strength things change, but we had a sniper in the mold of Bogs who never played due to his defense so I was always iffy on bringing in another non defender who despite the scoring always has a pretty bad net rating.

Grimes + a lil more should have been done for DJM.

In all honesty I wish we could just undo all the trades.

With due respect to your opinion - I brought up on another thread that a big payoff of the Detroit trade is the emergence of Deuce, much as the Toronto trade seemed to free the chemistry (and up the defense and ball movement) pre injuries. Other than that I would say let’s see what happens when people come back. It may end up regretful that our youth was jettisoned but in my eyes it may very well still pay off and was worth the risk. Plus who knows how it all ends up cap wise in coming seasons.

All good points.
