Probably nothing but why wouldn't Steve Ballmer have already extended this cat by now? And if it's not done, let's start some rumors!
PG would absolutely have to push for this to happen.
Paul George for Randle, Bogs, all the picks. LAC will of course want Deuce but Randle and the picks are key.
Who says no? LAC gets a bit beefier and younger with Randle and get picks to replenish. Bogs contract gives them long term $ relief.
Knicks get a top line guy to match Brunson, albeit PG is older.
Brunson, DDV, OG, PG, iHart. Deuce, Hart, Achiuwa, Mitch
I was thinking about the below tweet and who I would pair with Brunson and the 3 defensive guys and came up with PG, who is on a player option for next year.
We discussed this an another thread here but last I read "a team from the east is interested", I think it would be Philly who has space.
He is from LA, is in LA, and would think they are close enough on a contract.
Ballmer has that new arena to open next year.
Does PG now crave a chip for his legacy?
Kawhi signed for less than Max, is he not inclined to? Is it the money?
He want to be a Laker?
Funny, I thought RJ ceiling was PG13. That a thought that will sit well with Martin?
I just don't see trading a boatload of picks for a player (even one as good as PG) who is 33.
Our problem right now is guys are dinged up.
The big drawback is the timeline. Both Randle and PG will be up for multi year extensions. The 29-32 period will see some decline in a player's athleticism but it's usually balanced by increased knowledge of the game. The 33-36 period seems like a totally different animal. Especially gives PG's already extensive injury history. For some reason I feel like Randles injuries have more or less been freak occurences and not wear and tear. I trust Randle more to play even when dinged up.
If I’m putting my conspiracy theory hat I’m looking at PG being
a CAA client and hoping there’s some shenanigans going on in the background to lead him to NY. But Phillys cap space creates some good leverage for him with LA. Ultimately if he really wants to leave I’m sure the Knicks present a good trade partner.
It’s the James Harden effect. The idea of playing on a team with James Harden is much better than the reality of playing on a team with James Harden.
Or
It’s some cap work around maneuver where the amount and terms are already agreed to but the timing helps the team
No conspiracy is complete without a "CAA" client thingy.
Funny how the World Wide Wes thing has faded from view.
I dont think that makes us better or any closer to winning a title. To me Randle's size and ability to handle the ball, facilitate and dominate most guys 1x1 in the paint makes him the perfect compliment to Jalen. Randle also hits his crunch time FTs so he's a great 2nd option when the defense is blitzing
PG has a long history of injuries and horrible playoff performances. Randle has 1 of each so far

This. And I also don't know if PG plays defense anymore. The Knicks were rumored to have been interested in PG in the off season and the hold up was impending extension. I don't see the fit, so I must acquit. Motion denied.

Agree. George is too old to offer the farm or even if it’s just Randle and picks which wouldn’t be enough probably the clips will want more
We already passed on him. There have been articles written that he's interested in returning to the Pacers.

Oh yeah can totally see that
