Embiid kept Embiid out of the paint and decided to take jumpers. It's a product of him nursing that knee injury. Credit where credit is do though, even Embiid at 60% is elite.
Oubre did a great job on Brunson. We won a game where Brunson shot 8/26.
Cant wait to see how Jalen adjusts in Game 2.

I dont think so. Mitch denied him the ball and kept him from getting deep. Big difference between what he did when Mitch was on him.
What did my beloved sensual Queen Doris Burks and Barkley and the other hacks say on their coverage about the Knicks winning ? Was it all because Embid was laboring ?????
It’s official. I have to buy a Deuce jersey.
Money Mitch
Josh Hart is that guy

Thibs adjustment sitting DDV for deuce won the game.
It's smart on his behalf, less contact in the paint gives him his best chance to keep playing. The one time he ignored it and tried to go playground play, he paid for it. But some calls he gets are ridiculous.

Kudos to Deuce! Kudos to Bogie! Kudos to Big Mitch! Bench was outstanding tonight while the starters slugged along. Watch out for Brunson/DiVo redemption games on Monday - you know they aren't happy with their performances.
Hart was CLUTCH! Man is really the embodiment of this team and this coach. Gives you his all for 48 minutes - shooting doesn't impact the defense, rebounding, passing, or off ball movement. Co-captain this man-child!
The challenge rule needs to be fixed. Thibs successfully corrected the officiating 2x, still cost him a time out, and had to stand by on every other phantom foul for the rest of the game. But even with the restriction - he should again be in the running for COY.

Many paths to victory with this roster.
Lots of toughness, character, and pride on this team.
Watching McBride evolve has been great. NBA ball can be humbling, but he's put in the work & developed a level competence and confidence on the court that players like Obi, Knox, and Frank failed to show us as Knicks. He's still a work in progress, but a game like he just had in a setting like this is something he can really build on in terms of confidence.
Wonder what refs will be assigned game 2 and 5 ?
Hey Paul Reed what you do tonight ?

To quote Josh Hart, "I don't give a @#$% what [Reed] thinks."

DIvo is important but I want Deuce out there on Maxey
Yep playoffs are all about matchups and Deuce and Mitch might be needed big time to shadow Joel and Maxey. I think Bogie matches up too because guys like Batum are just gonna stand and spread on D so you can hide him.

Doesn't matter. This was PHIs best shot and they still couldn't win it. This series will wind up a sweep especially as Embiid wears down physically
I don't see Embid lumbering so badly
He's hampered from what I've seen of him pre-injury. Dude is just so talented that even him at 60% is a bitch to deal with.
But if you re-watch the 4th, he clearly was taking more jumpers— all of which were flat— because of his shotty knee. Factor in attrition over 3 more games and I doubt he holds up.
Huge diff in his motor between first and second halves. But he was still a huge impact player out there even just on defense. Running offense from the post and being an unconscious FT shooter.
Oubre and Batum guarded Brunson tough all year. Gonna take a team effort to beat these guys and that’s how it’ll get done. Maybe next game DDV drops 25 and OG gets you 20. This team can beat you a dozen different ways. But one thing is for sure rebounding is gonna be a huge factor. 66-41 rebounding advantage. That was the most glaring advantage we had on them going in. A bottom 5 defensive rebounding team versus the #1 offensive rebounding team that snatches souls on the glazz
Embiid had surgery and has reinjured his surgically repaired knee twice in a week. They trying to kill this guy lol. I guess props to him for toughing it out. Looks like old man Ewing trotting up and down the court and having 10 ice bags on both knees on the bench.
Wow, what a game of runs.
The Knicks offense was pretty disjointed today - they seemed befuddled by the zone/bothered by Embiid in the middle or perhaps our players were trying too hard to drive deep and draw fouls. We shot better from 3pt range rather than 2.
There were so many big heroes this game. With our starters off their games, we got a major boost out of McBride, Robinson, and Bojan.
A few thoughts:
* That pass off the backboard/dunk by Embiid in traffic was insane. The highlight play may have ramifications for the remainder of the series for Embiid.
* Did Brunson have that tape on his thumb against the Bulls? Is this a new injury? Curious if that played a part in his misfiring. The Sixers gave him a lot of different looks on D.
* The Big Ragu had an off night. Hopefully he'll come back with a bigger performance.
* On the 3pt foul on Lowry, Hartenstein looked like he landed on Lowry's foot then was replaced by Mitch soon after that. Hartenstein managed to react and shift his weight - he fell back into Lowry (and got a nice elbow in). I'm curious if he'll end up on the injury report after that.
* Mitch seems like a better match physically against Embiid and looked like a bigger problem for the Sixers than iHart. He may take over the starting job as this series progresses.
* Embiid really picked his spots in the 2nd half. Did a lot of work at the 3pt line. I haven't watched a lot of the Sixers (he's always injured in the playoffs!) but he's an impressive passer.
* Maxey was unbelievable at slicing to the basket, especially on his right. I'd be surprised if the Knicks don't find a counter to that.
* Scott Foster was largely a non-factor in this game. :) (whew - I don't think he'll officiate again in this series)

What was up with the blood on his knee pad?
I guess people no longer think the Pistons trade is a lose/lose trade anymore.
