We have players that can guard maxey. We have (had) zero defense for Embiid until last night. That defensive squad and team defense on Embiid was huge. But Precious said it in his interview. That’s the chemistry he has with OG and that’s his defensive experience. So I hate that iHart was in foul trouble. I hate that Mitch was injured. But I believe if iHart and Mitch was on the court, we lose this game.

Against Philly we need that defensive squad to play heavy minutes.

Deuce on maxey
OG on Embiid
Precious on Oubre (ready to rotate and cover anybody)
Josh (a defensive rebounding dog)

With only 7 players available, that gave these 4 guys more on court time which was huge. Add in JB as the offensive weapon and you gotta love this team.

Our versatility and deep roster is our strength. Thanks to Leon Rose for not trading for D.Mitch

COME ON THIBS

THIS WAS AN EASY ADJUSTMENT YOU DIDNT MAKE IN CRUNCH TIME.

I’m highlighting this comment for game 4 and it’s the same in game 5. Where’s Precious? Where’s the end of the game defensive adjustments?

Also all the little dumb plays, TOs, mis free throws. These guys needs to learn how to finish games.

JB also went back to those multiple counter moves instead of his first move.

And only 7 players is tired legs and tired mentally.

What exactly were we supposed to be adjusting? We made multiple stops at the end of the game before the 4 point play. Mitch was poking the ball away on nearly every possession from Embiid. He was locked in playing great defense.

And then he makes a huge mistake. And then Maxey makes a 40 footer. You can't adjust a mistake you don't know you're gonna make. We were doing everything we were supposed to do to close the game defensively.

Blame coaches but not the execution?
They go hand in hand. Shit happens. Yes, we had the game and a manageable lead. We learned game two shit happens. 9 times out of ten we pull that game out. But then there is that 10% and it happened.

Perfect storm. missed FT's, Mitch made a mistake, and Maxey was brilliant.
As we were cruising to a win I was thinking it would be proper to give props to Philly despite a 4-1 series the games were all close. its not 3-2 and heading back to down the turnpike. I know some of you thought Philly would fold because thats what they do. Well, new coach, new players, and shit happens. Embiid with a painful knee and Bells Fucking Palsy is doing some heroic stiff for them. He is physical. He is aggressive, and sometimes a bit dirty.

Blame is over rated.

I think the correct question is: when all said and done, will Bruson be a Hall of Famer?

Just ask the armchair coaches, rec league heroes know more then COY.

It just took a couple of bad decisions and a 35 foot shot to change the game 5 results. Despite a forgotten good game by most.
However, our COY knows not to panic.

Big win and our MVP was our leader once again.
Like I said, getting Donte going is very important if we are going to make noise.
No disrespect to Deuces incredible improvement but I'll take a multi chip winner over a recent G League participant in big moments.
JHart is a winner.
Liked and hope for more OG aggressiveness on offense.
Mitch is a warrior. Looks like he is playing and playing well on a hurting injury. Props to him and his efforts despite the whining about his bad decision at end of game 5.

Next up. Basket hanging Obi.
Let's go Knicks!

Thats an easy answer, even for knick haters.

Love how quick he learns and grows from game to game. Love how balanced he is off the court. How I know you ask? Just watch his performance and how he rebounds. He doesn't put his head down or point fingers. He's a true leader on and off the court and thats important when trying to set culture.

I'm also glad to see iHart finish the game. I know I said Precious needs to play instead, but we need iHart's confidence high, along with DDV. Precious is already confident and ready when called upon.

But Panos, it's not "will he?" but "when will he?"

When will JB:
1. Be a Hall of Famer?
2. Win a chip?
3. Gain respect?
4. Be the best PG in the game?

Round 2 should answer #4
