The foul led to a near dustup between the teams. A replay that has gone viral of the incident shows Embiid yelling, “What are you gonna do?” at Donte DiVincenzo and then OG Anunoby after they got in his face. Oakley, for one, knows what he would have done to Embiid. “I probably would have smacked him,” Oakley said. Oakley wants to make it clear he is not advocating outright violence, per se. But he says the Knicks have to set the tone of Sunday’s Game 4 early so Embiid doesn’t think they can be pushed around. “You can’t let him send that kind of message,” Oakley said. “If he had done something like that [when Oakley played], he wouldn’t have gotten away with it. David Robinson, when he played, he knew what he could get away with. They [bullies] pick a fight they think they are going to win.” – via Newsday
Now you smack a player you get tossed.
Back in the day was back in the day. is it me or does many of Oaks question's get answered with a similar answer? LOL
Have to be careful none of our bigs get tossed "sending a message".
Like I said before, we pushed Embiid to that near breaking point where he nearly got himself tossed.
His star status saved him.
Draymond was a dirty player and he got tossed doing stupid shit. Its rare that a player of Embiid's stature to be "dirty" but here we are. MVP's earn some leeway but is there a limit?
One thing is clear to me - this guy is not the missing piece. He doesn't have the mental werewithal to be a champion.
He has 23 flagrants including 7 in the postseason since 2017.
He is lucky the NBA wants to protect him. He has great shooting touch, but he's a lumbering clutz and a 2 cent brained hothead.
