They could used his energy. Doesn't where in the frontcourt. His ability to recover and help would've helped on defense.
Sounds nice until we have 3 guys on the court that Philly doesn’t need to guard
That doesn't sound much different than the scenario we're facing now with the starting lineup. I'm not saying Precious at the four should be a FT thing, but these team definitely could use his strengths. You're telling me Precious can't even get spots minutes at the four?
I’m telling u Precious cannot play the 4 in playoff basketball. That’s not an answer to anything. Maybe he can get some 5 mins though because iHart hasn’t been effective this series

Disagree. I think Precious can give you spot minutes at the four, tho he's better suited for the 5. We're down to 7. It sucks, but we need minutes eaters. Honestly, out greatest offensive scheme is the offensive rebound anyway.
I don’t see what Precious at the 4 does for this team that can’t score … our D has been really good
We really don’t need to change anything we had a 6 point lead with 25 seconds left. Just hit a FT and don’t give up a 4 point play. We are acting like we got smoked tonight and need big adjustments.

I hear you and wish he would knock 100% but everyone was choking tonight.
Even Maxey missed 3 in row in 4th and Embid was choking left and right.
Can’t believe how many piss poor decisions we made to hand this game over.
Before game I was thinking if this is a true/legit team we will win this game and close them out —- now we’ve got to drag 7 bodies back to Philly and hope for the best.
JUST DISGUSTED
Yep. It’s the difference between being a conf finals caliber team and not getting out of first rounds.

We don’t pass anyway so they don’t need to guard anyway — out rebounded by 6 in our building in biggest game in years. Mitch had some great moments and at same is a killer offensively. Precious sets much better screens can catch roll, pass and dribble dunk or make right pass.

TLDR: Don’t make boneheaded plays and we win

We get it.Yes the Knicks should try and get Mikal Bridges. But he's not walking through that door anytime soon.
No reason to overthink the decisions. The game was there - we made a dumbass foul and a guy made two unbelievable shots. One of those things doesnt happen and the series is over.

Yea we handled them all night. The biggest issue is still the starting lineup and getting killed to start 1st and 3rd. But despite that we controlled the game and built a lead late in the 4th that will hold 98 out of 100 times.

Let's not forget the missed free throws (particularly Josh Hart's)and that lack of a closeout in the 4th that resulted in a Kelly Oubre layup off a broken play. For whatever reason, it seemed like the Knicks glitched for a second and just stood watching as Oubre recovered and scored. All this points to fatigue and little else. We need to be more judicious about our timeouts and how we manage our already short rotation.
First off why the f I c k did we foul Maxy on a 3 up 6 with 25 sec to go let the guy hit the shot who cares … huge blunder .

I'll tell you what, I blame that stupid podcast... Man I'm descending further into madness. I've got to stop before I go all Liam Neeson are start looking to pick fights with anyone wearing Philadelphia gear

I just threw out my cream cheese.
Precious 100% should have played this game. Thibs made poor decisions most of the game, and started DDV in both halves, despite it not working either time. He doesn't call time up after the 4-point play, then again when we go for our last possession with 8 seconds left to bring it to half-court. We made the same mistake they did in Game 2, both were poor coaching decisions and losses. Also, you double Maxey and make anyone else make shots. This was avoidable and this team needed the rest with only 7 deep without Precious. 8 missed FTs, 14 TOs most unforced, terrible half and quarter starts. When we finally had the game in hand, they gave it away. I don't blame JB for that big TO, what else is he going to do when no one else comes to be a shooter? I don't blame Hart's missed FT, we wouldn't have got the lead and cushion without his points in the 2nd half and rebounds. Even injury-free, this team has no offensive consistent threat at C, and with Bogey out for the season, no shooter heater on the bench. DDV is killing us from 3, 1-7. We are forcing Hart to take too many 3s, 1-6. Even McBride was off tonight from downtown, 2-7, that is 4-20 from deep for those 3s or 20%.
If the opponent has 16 TOs and also shoots terribly from the stripe, and we have 10 steals, you should win those games. Most balls bounced their way, Embiid finally played D like his team's season was on the line, so, on to Game 6, unfortunately. Tough loss that will leave a horrible feeling in my gut for days.

Ball was not out on Josh.
I thought Maxey jumped into defender to initiate contact. But Ref did not see nor did anyone calling the game.
The garden was ready to party. Fucking sucks. But Philly is not regular 7th seed. They were only three games behind knicks at seasons end.
No shame in this.
OG was brilliant. Jalen got fatigued and choked. Anyone here really gonna go there? Shit on our game 4 hero?
Our dude did not get it done.
Man, Mitch is a defensive only player for the most part and he made like 3 mistakes on this one play.
End of game, rookie level mental mistakes. I’m still shaking my head
No, but you play Precious in place of Mitch, in case they are forced to the line.
DLeethal wrote:Thibs isn’t gonna sit Josh. You simply can’t play Josh, Precious, and a Center
Was anyone else occasionally thinking - man wish had Grimes to at least try to run throw out against Maxey for a few minutes.
His quick feet, size and strength would be nice as an option especially given we have neither Bogey/In the trunk
