The thing is- I have a lot of trust in Precious if he's playing minutes. Precious was really good for us earlier in the year and the next few games have huge financial implications for him. Plus isn't Precious a New York kid? It's gotta be a dream to step into your home court stage in a situation like this.
Knicks won last game based on some great plays in the clutch and some lucky calls. This game will come down to pace and defense. Knicks have to figure out a way to slow the machine down.
I thought it was a positive that we played at their pace but still beat them - kind of shows how sketch their D is.
I don’t like that we played at their pace and some sloppy TO’s contributed to that —- really think Precious quick feet, rebounding, D and rim protection will be a positive add going forward. He negates some of the quickness/athleticism advantage Pacers have.
For me we take care of the ball, make some shots and #1 win the boards and we win.

To me he is ultra shifty - he is leaving Deuce in the dust with little hesi and cross over moves plus he is spinning whirling dervish——- PAIN IN ASS.
you might be right. i think he has been maddeningly effective, and if he's shifty he's in some subtler way of getting people slightly off balance. In any event, i think we need to stay in front of him better
I am just hoping we go under the screen and play off TJ tonight. If he is going to beat us from 3 then let him. We know he can kill us when he drives to the hoop. His shot is slow enough that we can get a good contest anyway.

Yeah - I mean he is just great at the subtle head/shoulder/ball fakes and he changes speed and whoop he’s in the paint. It’s not as simple as saying go under the screens because he’s been in the league a long time and finds a way to worm around - plus he’s often just beating our guards without a screen.
Hopefully he comes back to earth some and / or we close off his windows a bit better without giving up open 3’s.
Thibs typically is a protect the paint 1st guy but could be with McConnell he’s told guys to stay home on the 3 and is living with McConnell driving (no idea).
He’s just an annoying Lowry like little brat/gnat who I’d love on the Knicks

TJ is the short-armed, slightly more offensively inclined version of Caruso. Still a pest on defense because of his high motor and active hands. He plays like he’ll only be on the court for 10-15 minutes and wants to make the most of it.
I think we’ll see more of the same mix of TJ and Haliburton - and I expect another “less than all-star” level performance from Halliburton. I don’t think he can turn the corner in his current state.
Perhaps they’ll even play them together and Hal can play floor spacer.
