Agree first things first is getting OG and IHart signed. Of the two IHart more expendable despite OG’s brittleness. Would hate to see him go though.
After that there’s no clear moves. If they failed to sign one of the two then that creates a need. Guessing something happens with one or two of the draft picks. Hoping we bring in at least one rook.
Big trade? Anything is possible, but I expect a more or less stand pat approach with a little fine tuning. But we love it when they make moves!
Worth noting that Precious is an RFA - they can basically decide to match what the market decides to pay him and can defer decision making on him to some degree till they determine what happens with Hartenstein.
Can't hate what he gave, but I wouldn't bee too proactive in trying to keep Precious unless the someone throws the huge bag at iHart or a big trade involving Mitch materializes. As a backup 4, 3rd center, he probably wouldn't have much of a path to minutes and that spot is probably better used on a rookie.

I legit do not know this: To sign a second round pick like Rokas, you need to use cap space or some exception like the bi-annual or MLE?
The Knicks are over cap, so they would need to use one of the exceptions that would hard cap you at the second apron? Is that the deal?

I think staying below the first apron at $178mm and whether they elect to "hard cap" by using a S&T or an exception is the determination of "healthy", not whether the Knicks have cap space to be players in the FA market. Meaning, managing the spread between 144 and 178. Given the projections to increase the cap dramatically over the next several years, I think pushing salary towards 178mm is the correct economic move.
