This season was a season to skip. Caitlin been injured from the start and tried to play through it but she was pretty limited and had to shut it down. Sophie and Lexie are my girls but once Caitlin is done the WNBA instantly gets boring to me. I stopped watching and don't miss it a bit. Hopefully Caitlin has no injuries next season.

Being a leg man myself, the combo of Lexie and Sophie are pleasent to watch. Sophie's really got to break out being on the Fever and her "Sass" is fun! Lexies not a star player but really solid doing manythings really well. ANd looks great doing it! Bueckers ROY campaign is very good. She can play at the WNBA level! Admire she came out with out a lot of fanfare and no push back to her endorsements. Minnesota surge was impressive this season. Im impressed by the league but sad Clark could not continue. Angel Reese is not a terrible player but the optics around her are very oppressive. She is under a very intense scrutiny which I can't say is fair or unfair.
Lots to follow without Clark.

I'll give them another try for the playoffs.

Admirable job Coach white has done given the levels of injuries not just to clark, but Sophie and others! The first place Lynx got taken the woodshed last night by the fevor. Both teams have injuries to different degrees. I did watch some of the game. Im drawn in by the passing game women can do given they have more space being less athletic than the mens game. Its "different". Not better, just different. Page Buekers if not for Clark might have been the "it girl". She is silky smooth on the court. Chicago Sky is a shit show even beyond Angel Reese. Some teams home games have a real good energy to them. Good litmus test to see how league and ratings do without Clark the rest of the way.

Fever given all the injuries pulled out an upset and move on. Ms. Boston is still a hell of a player and Lexie Hull clutch basket and steal to pull out a come from behind win. When you got injuries like they did and many new players in and out have to give props to coach stephanie white.

It's a little more complicated than what bobby is saying. The WNBA was in such a bad shape they sold a large portion of their league to investers. So they don't get all that revenue. The players are still vastly underpaid but this situation is very complex. For people who might not have been keeping up the latest unagreed to CBA stuff was 1mil max instead of the current 200k max but still a bad revenue split. The revenue split is the tricky part with the league only owning 42% of itself. NBA owners own 42%(I understand this because they basically kept it alive all these years.) Outside investors own the last 16%.

Funny thing about all the drama today is we get real proof of what was obvious from year 1. Everyone hated Caitlin. How the hell does even the commissioner hate her? She is bringing you more money than you could dream of. the problem is the commissioner wanted the credit for the growth. So she hates Caitlin because we all know she is the reason. We already know the players and old fans hate her to.
Nalod@ 10/1/2025 6:17 PM
hell of a game last night. Stephanie White is a hell of a coach as that team keeps peelingoff players and took the Aces to OT! I know everyone hates Caitlin but not the fans! Was kind of hoping they had another gear and maybe she comes back for finals? That would be a story! Kudo's to the Fever organization for a great season! WNBA has to get its shit together. These girls are perhaps more vicious than the mens game and they beat the snot out of each other. Big respect to Aces! Aja Wilson is a great player and they had the clutch gene in OT. Fever just ran out of steam. It happens!

I agree Coach White did a masterful job in the playoffs.

Reporter guy talking about the complexities of CBA negotiations with the current ownership splits. It's a thread so you have to click it and read a line of tweets to get the full picture.

This is crazy. They tie rev split to amount of rev gained and won't show the players the numbers. So they expect the players to just take their word for it? That is crazy. Yea, this lockout is unavoidable. How did the previous CBA not put it in writing that they can audit the league to find out the truth?

Odds are the sides are too far apart to reach a compromise. Some key dates coming up. The WNBA has two drafts this year followed by the start of free agency. They have maybe 4 weeks until the point of no return. Even in the unlikely event that a deal is reached, it’s possible they have lost their momentum and will lose part of their audience to indifference

The short version. The two sides are stuck on revenue sharing. The players want a percentage (27%) of gross revenue. The league is countering that they are willing to discuss net revenue sharing. The players want the guarantee of gross revenue which is unrealistic and pretty much a non starter.

Exactly. During the WNBA ALl-Star weekend the owners said the players just did not understand the basics of business and a few months later I understand why the owners said that. I also hate how negative the players union has gone. They are literally trying to paint the owners who have funed a league for 30 years that has never made a profit as greedy and exploitive.
Two of the main reasons why the owners will not even consider gross is because They only own 42% of their own league so every team will have to share only that 42% and they are still adding expansions. They have also lost money every season for like 30 years. So as protections from having to lost more money the owners want to give the players net rev share and not gross. The basic explaination of net is the amount after deductions and expenses. This gives the owners protections from losing money. The players want gross which is before deductions and expenses. With gross if the WNBA popularity is a bubble they will now be having years of even larger money losses because of how much the salaries are increasing this CBA.
WHen you hear the players explain it they are talking about the owners wanting to pay themselves and give the players whats left over when a simple google search on net vs gross will tell you it's just the deductions and expenses of the league. I am guessing this is why the owners made that statment on the players lack of basic business literacy.
If the league did not have to sell a majority of itself to survive 30 years of losses I could understand giving the players gross but if I was in the owners situation I would be doing the same. The players don't even like the player responsible for the popularity and have done everything in their power to kill her hype. So no way would I trust them to keep the growth of the WNBA going. They been actively trying to kill it for 2 years. The WNBPA is also the most chilish union I have ever seen. The amount of unprofessional things they have done in the short time I been paying attention to them is staggering.

I agree with this 100. I keep trying to see the players side, but all I keep coming back to is these players are so unlikeable, so petty. From the pay us T shirts to the constant NBA money bullshit. I'm just tired of them.
