Knicks · Julius Randle appreciation thread... (page 5)

Was never a fan of Randle but he worked hard and helped us improve. Betcha he plays big against us but don't doubt that he wasn't the best fit for us going forward. I doubt he gets resigned by Minn and suspect he will end up on a team like Denver or Dallas by the following season. If so he would probably excel on that type of team. Guess the debate whether to get behind Randle or RJ can finally be put to rest...

Much love for Randle. That 2021 season was the best Knick season of this millennium (even better than Melo in 13/14)

Great tribute. Jules will be missed. I get on him sometimes but the positives out weigh any small negatives. He plays with passion. Perfect fit for this NY fan base.

I believe if his contract extension wasn’t an issue him and DDV would still be here. But I don’t blame him. He sacrificed a lot for this team physically and financially. Hope he plays into a max contract in minny. And continues to impact communities.

This guy saved the Knicks. If he didnt exceed his expectations and then some when signed, none of this happens.

Feels like he deserves to win a title here, but moving on may be what we needed to get there.

But only up until Minny meets the Knicks in the finals. We have out limits

Randle was the ONLY so called high profile player that wanted to come to NY.
He outplayed his contract. Haters never acknowledged that.
Haters said he was worth a couple of seconds. Dumb and just hater shit.
He was a dog. Like Mase and Oakley, had the fight usually loved in NY.

Still needs to work on mental fortitude needed in deep playoff crunch time.imo.
Think with more experience in those situations, he will.
Much of his criticism was due to having to do too much on teams that just were not good.
He deserved to have a chance to win here this year and prove he could do all of the above.
Learned this is a business and Rose is a very good businessman.

Was it worth it to give him up for someone like KAT? That will be written.

As I said it many times before, thank you Julius for taking us out of being the laughing stock of the NBA all those years. You had the garden rockin again and cleared the path for guys that elevated the team to what it was last year.

"When we heard Minnesota, it was pretty shocking," she said in a video posted to her TikTok account. "Although we were so ready to leave New York. Living in a condo with two kids is so hard."

Kendra also noted that a move to the Midwest or another part of the U.S. was already under consideration, citing the Randle family's openness to a different lifestyle.

"It was a great experience, but we were already looking to move outside of the city," she explained. "It was just getting so hard and overwhelming for us because my husband's from Texas, and I'm from Kentucky, and that's just not how we grew up."

I thought they lived in Westchester?
They sell the house? "Living in a condo with two kids is so hard."

Im cool with it all but she either not happy about the trade so she doing the "Well, we were thinking of leaving anyway" or its really her being transparent that knicks and randle were not going to go much further together and she understood there was a big change coming. These guys don' have normal jobs or normal lives. She now has to find a big rental and deal with the coming winter and get her son into anew school. Its part of the life they choose.

Mostly NBA wives are pretty low key. Kendra kinda puts herself out there and not always translate well. I give her the benefit of the doubt but her comment MIGHT be a tell tale of what was going on. Im sure the Malibu rental was pretty cool were his sketchers promo was filed.
No "Good riddance" here. Like our friends now playing in Toronto, I hope Jules succeeds. As long as knicks do their thing and do it well its all good.
Knicks/Minny final would be great!

All joking aside, can we have a pinned thread for following the Timberknicks this year? It might be fun to have a second team to route for.

Nalod @ 10/3/2024 10:39 AM
Was always hoping for a MaverKnick-Knick final match up. Getting Kyrie took the fun out of that. For what its worth, Kyrie has held up his end of the bargain in Dallas!
As for Timberwolves, I do like when a fresh team wins a chip. Not at our expense, but if we not there I'd root for them. Same for OKC and iHart.
In the age of parity there are no dynasties and fewer teams to hate on. All major sports have gone this route. Patriots are done! Baseball is hard to win thus Dodgers and others can spend but repeats are really not probable. Texas Rangers did not make playoffs this year after winning the World Series last.
Last dynasty in NBA was GSW and its hard to hate on Steph Curry!

They have a Four Seasons in Minny, so they have some nice Condos. As someone who has rented or owned a house for the last 20 years, it is an adjustment. So is winter in Minnesota. Its going to be weird living in an apt again.
