Kolek? LOL.....
Williams was instrumental in helping the Heat win their first Chip' as a backup PG. So yes, Id be happy if Kolek played a similar role for the Knicks. Youtube highlights and all.

Do you see any similarities in their game?

Not as flashy as Williams, but both with above average court vision, about the same pct from 3.
Said I'd be happy if Kolek was Williams lite, wasnt a prediction, or an in depth comparison of their playing styles. J-Will played his role in helping the Heat win a championship. Maybe "Tyler the Creator" can too.
Refresh my memory if I'm forgetting someone but it seems like the last time Knicks had a point guard with excellent passing ability would be Mark Jackson?

(Not saying Kolek is that, just hoping)
Linsanity PG was fun for a hot minute

Sergio Rodriquez had good passing to go with his matador D.
Kolek looks, plays and behaves as a veteran PG. I like it. It’s not easy to be so fluid on offense in Summer League, yet he makes it look like he has been playing with this dudes for a significant time.
He will definitely be a piece of the puzzle and it shows with his contract compared to Terry. He will just be eased into the pace of the NBA, which even without blazing speed I don’t expect it to be a big hurdle for him to overcome.

. Einstein over here 😂. Of course it was fun, it was a time period when there weren’t many positives as a Knick fan like there are presently

Lets hope it lasts longer than Linsanity!

Good call.
Felton was a good pass first pg for half a season
My memory fails me exactly how good a passer was Harper and Chollie. I mean, Chollie WAS a QB, right?
But I feel like in those days, the passing was one play: dump it down to Ewing.

. Absolutely. The good news is that we have smart people running the show and the core is pretty young
Kolek just has to establish that he can play at least average defense. His passing is above average already, and his shot will likely be decent at worst. If he can play D, he looks like a solid backup point guard with the potential to turn into an above average PG. If we trade McBride for a center (a real possibility), then Kolek will be with the main team and will likely get 5-10 minutes a game. They signed Payne to be the main back up and I think they will let Kolek ease into the role, but if his defense holds up, he is already showing he can run an offense. I am hopeful we found a keeper because our second unit needs a true floor leader.

Kolek just has to clear the bar set by Brunson and take some charges and not be completely befuddled as to where to rotate. This should be doable!
Kolek has to play 8-12 mins a night. Backup PGs who can play average/above average D, have a mid range pullup AND can get to the lane and finish, have elite passing instincts and can put up > 3 to 1 A/TO are starting to elite PGS.
The fact that Kolek does some of these things at a high level constitute a good playable backup for like the best player in the NBA and the history of the universe.

Harper was a good all around pg but it was a different era the game was much more half court. The offense we ran was basically dump the ball to Ewing and then Ewing would either do a turnaround jumper, drive or he would kick it out to Harper or Starks on the perimeter

Let him first get a couple months of run in Westchester. There will be injuries around January timeframe then call him up and let him play some point off the bench
