Knicks · I Don't Want Isaiah Hartenstein To Leave (page 1)

I hate how other teams can pay him more.

I hate the stupid early Bird rights rules.

I hate that we didn't sign him for 3 years.

I hate OKC for having money under the cap.

TheMTL @ 6/30/2024 8:11 PM
Same. I'm hoping that Ihart wants a starting role. In OKC, Chet is a stretch 5 therefore IHart would be a guaranteed bench player.

Oklahoma is the __________ center of the world?

Cattle?

Nalod @ 6/30/2024 8:13 PM
Isiah did not want to leave clips and was willing to be reasonable.
But they could not bring enough dollars.

He does not want to leave, but if his fine wife from Texas don't mind OKC, and the extra 24mil they can pay him then perhaps we just wish him well and think our FO will figure something out.
Chips are usually won in year two of an unfusion of talent. OG and randle were just getting started.
Maybe we don't win year one, but its a process.
Adding OG and Mikal came at a price. Not even that they cost us iHart, its just we can't sign. him for more than the 16.xxmil. Seems stupid on this side of it.

I feel like Seattle. Waiting to see what OKC does next.
toodarkmark @ 6/30/2024 11:18 PM
I just saw that Shai and IHart followed each other on Instagram just now, so I'm not feeling confident.

There’s different ways to look at this:
- boo hoo, I want him to stay, its unfair, call the wahhhhhhmbulance
- it’s good that a talented guy came here, became valuable, and has the opportunity to provide for generations of his family

Personally, I’ll go with the latter, because maybe someone else takes note of iHart’s story, and the choose to come play here specifically because of his story

Nalod @ 7/1/2024 8:35 AM
No deal announced so he was not blown away.
WE have discussed OKC might have been willing to go big but go short.
There is risk to that. WE assume we have seen peek iHart? Maybe, maybe not.
Supreme has a good point, there are and could be others. Issue is timeline. Took iHart 2nd second season to really shine.
If you recall, season one was ok, but not like last year which he really came into his own.
OKC has a very good team and their coach should be laying out how they plan to use him. That might not be so attractive??
All we got are media reports which don't look good. Only thing is knicks did not move on right away so the door is open.
I would expect some news will drop today.
If Mitch was durable this would not be an issue nor would have Isiah had the opportunity to shine as he did.
I'd love to believe Mitch's most recent operation and recovery would be the one that gives him a few years of relief.

iHart started playing well for the Knicks around March of his first season, and really was excellent from then on. He is still 26, I think he has gotten more confident in his offense, and we may still see his jumper come around.

OKC just offered 3 for $87MM

Going to miss him. He’s got another level to go, that’s the bag. Great Knick.

If that is what they offered, he should take. That is nearly $10 million more a year. You cannot walk away from that kind of money. FO should have signed him for 3 years. They corrected that mistake with Duece.

OKC mansion vs NY studio.

He agreed. Unfortunate, but $29MM a year and shorter term with a team just as good is a no brainer.

Have to move quick now that Plumlee and Drummond are off the board.

VDesai @ 7/1/2024 10:25 AM
He made a lot of great plays while here, but nothing better than the endgame sequence in Game 2 against Philly. Incredible offensive board, falling to the ground, in a crowd, makes the instinctual outlet pass to OG who swings it to DiVo. And then he hustles down the floor for the recovery block on Maxey to close the game. That says it all about what this guy brought to the table for the Knicks.

Just doing a bit of iHart thread merging.
