What’s Fournier’s plus minus?

Funny, seems we not about countries anymore but who is playing?
Personally I won't watch until there is some kind of back story or interest. By that, say Team Canada goes on a run and meets USA in a metal round. That will matter.
the exibitions are of no interest. Teams are working thru things. Team USA working thru lineups.

I can probably name more players in the Olympics than countries.

I need help every morning and download that caffeine like it's my job. At night I have a different routine of alcohol and other stuff.

Good times

Lebum "haters" always throw this around.
Did Nolan ryan ever get this?
Kareem?
Tom Brady?
Jordan?
Kobe?
Karl Malone?
Johnny greene?
Lots of NHL guys?

These guys on super stuff that is not detected and only super rich dudes have access to it and never caught?
Its a nice fable but possible.
Lebron has never been rumored other than "How does he do it?"
My take, Lebron was biologically special from day one. NBA is filled with these aliens but then there is next level.
Staying injury free this long is crazy.
Jordan was gifted no doubt. His arrogance and character would be symptomatic of a juicer. The Yellowing of the whites of the eyes? "Ole Cheese Eyes is back".....
He was never accused. Maybe his venture to Space jam/baseball was some of that? Who knows?
Too much hate to give Lebron credit for taking care of himself year round and the effort that must entail? He puts in the work.

There are enough physical checkmarks and other dubious incidents to suggest Lebron may be getting some form of chemical help. 😈 Some of these substances are very expensive and are hard to detect unless you're using a very aggressive drug testing regimen. From what I've heard, the NBAs is lacking. I also suspect Brady and Malone were also getting a little bit of help. The difference between today and the Lyle Alzado days is that there's a better understanding of drug dosages, cycling and side effects. It's not hate. It's what I'm witnessing with my own eyes. What LeBron is doing at this stage isn't natural.

I don’t think dismissing it as “hate” is fair. I’m a disliker for sure but also a respecter which is in my post. Anyway, his trainer and business partner were implicated in the Biogenesis scandal that brought down Alex Rodriquez. No firm connection was ever made but I’d say it’s interesting. Then you look at his big ol’ noggin. And his incredible performance at his current age - interesting how baseball careers started getting shorter again after the juice hit the fan. Circumstantial sure. But worth mentioning perhaps?

Brief article and the content outlines what happened.
Is it plausible Lebron flirted with Roids 19 years ago? Sure.
Could have have gotten it elsewhere if that source dried up? DEA said Randy Mims was a client for just a few months.
Is it fair to implicate him the same as AROD?
Is it improbable a 39 year old can still fly?
That tape montage shows a younger Lebron highlights. I don't know if he can still all that but he is a tank and can now bully his way around more. Especially around non NBA players who are not used to this kind of speed and strength. Thats why we talking about it today, right?

All our heads get bigger as we age. Yes. Pelvis and skulls keep growing. ITs been said Skull keeps growing to age 40. No doubt Roids can do that also.
Im not going to vouch for his innocence, but not going to watch a YouTube either that has a defined desired outcome.

Lebron is a freak. Kobe did some amazing shit at age 37. He was a freak. So did the others I mentioned above. All exceptional longevity.
Jordan aged 37min a game, played all 82 games and avi'd 20 pts per game at age 39.

For most of these guys the talent is often still there but the injuries tear them down. Roids enable one to recover faster. This we know. Lift weights and get stronger with faster recovery. Basketball players don't generate power like Baseball and Football players. Few basketball players compared to other sports have been implicated over history.

Lebron can afford the best of everything. Hire trainers, supplements, chefs, biometric toys and the science to use it properly. etc. Stuff other players can also get. Still has to watch what he eats, how he sleeps, how he works out, etc. Has to put the work in.
Maybe he does not put out videos so we think he just takes magic pills and it all keeps working?

As I mentioned I’m on the low road! There are certain players I do not care for, starting with KD and Lebron. I’m sure them rejecting and eventually clowning the Knicks play into it. But moreover, I dislike the “Diva/GM” phenomenon they carry with them. The “Super Friends” thing. Just don’t care for it and in KD’s case it has been franchise killing. Been a while since it has worked for Lebron. The current Knicks have pretty much been the antithesis of this, which is why I get worked up when the “get a star” talk happens. Okay particularly when it “trade Randle/get a star.”

And please understand I see and am in awe of their generational talents. And I acknowledge and respect your point. I don’t know if it matters but I am really not deeply serious about this stuff. It’s a lark. But I can own it if I am wrong.

martin @ 7/25/2024 12:20 PM
I have not read this article but know the story intimately. I am a gigantic follower of beach volleyball.

This is an incredible story and Chase did it the right way: He grinded it out for an incredibly long time with a partner who was not really considered "talented" but who is also a superb grinder (think of the D2/Juco guy who didn't get drafted, played in Europe, fought tooth and nail to play in the Gleague, did good enough in SL to earn a training camp invite, and then just did all the dirty work to get a 2-way contract, etc. and now is in the Olympics).

What Budinger has accomplished is incredible. Dude is 36 and took up beach volleyball full time at around 2018 when he was 30? Chase played indoor volleyball in high school, basketball after that, started beach volleyball around 29yo. The difference between indoor vball and beach is about as different as, say, singles Wimbledon hard surface tennis and then playing coed doubles clay surface in the French Open, but a lot more so.

Well said! Respect.

I don't like the destroyer of franchises but Lebron retrace back to Clev and left them with a Chip. Two in Miami. One in LA.
Durant? Bit of a surely one is he. Unlike Harden, he does back up his with effort and is upfront about who he is.

The Decison was awful but he did donate it all, upfront all monies went to boys and girls club. Knicks at that time were a mess. A big one.

The rally in Miami? It was gaudy. Riley was even cringing! The arrogance and losing to Dallas being up 2-0 was cool. They got schooled. I like that he went back to Clev even after Dan Gilbert was a bit of a prick. When did I forgive Lebron? 2016 playoffs vs. GS. That performance floored me. I mean it was incredible and one for the ages. The grit, determination and influence of his talent was incredible.

Durant? Damn near carried Nets to Championship. One toe over the line, instead Bucks advance. That game went to over time and they were cooked. Durant really played his heart out. I think Kyrie was out that game. Harden usually falls apart by then.

Perhaps its performances by generational talents that blow me away when they dig in deep. Really deep.
Jordan terrorized knicks too many times. After he was done I kind of felt I missed his brilliance by hating him.
Kobe was too arrogant to be likable. I came around when his maturity was more apparent later in his career and life. Guys change.
Durant keeps himsel. Bit isolated. I Think he a bit on the spectrum there. He loves the game. That I respect.

So there is my take. Its not just a moral high ground but a sort of evolution as a fan now with age. Time has mellowed me and I enjoy the games not just the results. Knicks even with this group might not win a chip but there has to be some gratification beyond a chip? I loved last season and the grit we had to the end. Knicks ran out. OG gave it a try. Brunson gave till he broke, and iHart really played hard. How can anyone not be inspired by Josh Hart efforts. He played until he had no more bounce in his legs. Knicks lost that last game did not sting as much because.

Do some internet research. It’s not just “how does he do it”.

It’s things like the change in jaw line and thicker yet leaner midsection. In season getting more jacked instead of worn down. Pronounced side deltoids. PEDs and masking of PEDs are very real

Then you have the Miami connection. Guys like H whiteside go from string bean to jacked. The financial motivation alone is immense.

I haven’t heard him talk about it lately but he used to say he spend like 1000000 a year on his fitness. That buys a lot of vitamins

Exactly. Weight lifting is a serious hobby of mine which I took up later in life. I used to tell my buddies that PEDs aren’t limited to the jacked dudes either. Keep an eye out on string bean relief pitchers for example who need quick recovery. Got poo pooed until they were the next wave of dopers

At the moment when I see some supermodels I think the same. Lean yet bigger midsections. Side delts. These are not normal results from even serious exercise. Getting huge is also a function of diet but if you starved yourself and took the right stuff you might resemble someone like Gisele - not saying she’s on it.

For the record I’ve never touched or even seen the stuff but you see stuff in gym culture. Guys start w testosterone the way other guys start w weed and they go from there. I’m quite confident that someone w Lebron money is getting the best money can buy

Crazy! I was a huge fan in the pre-rally scoring days with epic side out battles. Smith and stoklos. Holland and Dodd etc

Fun fact: Holland was Californian HS athlete of the year; runner up — Ronnie Lott

Edit. Hovland. Auto correct flub

That guy is the perfect example of the importance of genetics. That dude's regimen was disgustingly excessive. There are pros who don't use nearly as much hormones as he did. I'm not going to lie and say he looks like shit. At the same time, I'd expect better results if I'm going to shave that many years of my life.

Wemby is the player that scares me the most. If he is on his size and mobility means you can do nothing to slow him down. Thank god he went out west.
