End of summer doldrums.
What is Leon's next big move? Not the adjustment ones on the road to building a Championship, not a small move like Kessler or backup C.
This is all about Leon's thought process about how he is going to *keep* this train rolling. All cards are on the table. To state the obvious: I don't want to necessarily start a trade Randle thread.
Brunson, OG, Mikal have taught us a lesson IMHO: Leon has an idea of what his ideal team is comprised and Leon pretty much gets what Leon wants. It starts with Jalen. Villanova is a non-negotiable next layer that is near unmovable.
Besides the obvious of Danye, what is Leon incessantly thinking and planning for? What's his ideal and what archetype player and then who specifically are his targets?
I am not a nay-sayer. I am a pie-in-sky planner-doer. I think Leon is of the same cloth.
I think it is Sengun. I think he is the target. I do make up a lot of trade scenarios though too, most all of which are just pie in sky.
I would add: my thought is that this - something - will happen within the next 2 years.
I think we roll with this group and adjust accordingly. I think he will only move Julius if he is blown away by an offer. I think we have more than enough to win a bunch of games in the regular season.
Sengun: Talented player, tough fit. It's like having the reverse side of the coin Mitch. Very talented offensive who can only really guard one position and doesn't do a good job of it. I think the next target is a wing-ish type player with positional flexibility. Probably a combo forward.

For me, Sengun is possibly no less the defender Randle is, and with a stable full of wing players who are elite defenders, this is not as much of a problem in terms of how much net gain you make on offense with a passing, scoring, 3point shooting center. Additionally, it is easier to find a PF who can shoot from some type of distance and still defend very very well. Precious is almost there and he would be cheap.
I do not know how bad Sengun's defense is, I will start there. I know that his offensive upside is very unicorn.
If you had to match Jalen and some of the mostly beastly wing defenders in the league - in addition to Deuce, DDV, Hart - with a passing, scoring 3point line stretching center who is also under the tutelage of Thibs and staff, you might have someone who is at least not deficient at D and REALLY opens up the offense.

Imma zag since this a pie in the sky scenario. What about Jabari Smith? More versatile defender and offers more utility as a perimeter big. I think I see him more as a center going forward. Doesn't offer as much upside offensively as Segun, but I think he would be a better fit

I like the zag! I don't know enough about him. He gonna fill out or more like Cavs Mobley type C?

I think so. I know they stuck him at center when Segun went down and he looked real good. That stint probably have people hope about his career going forward.
Knicks somehow are getting slept on atm. They were historically good during that short stint when everyone was healthy last year and we have added Mikal Bridges to that dynamic. As long as our bigs are stable this team could win 55-60 games and push for a title. Don't think Leon has his mind on anything outside of possible Center depth.

He is scheming, don't you worry

We all know Gerson Rojas is scheming... On someone's wife.

Thibs outsmarted Rojas long time ago, oh yeah, single man strateegery
If it’s me,
Brunson
DDV / McBride
Bridges /Hart

Probably working on getting JJJ to call for a trade to NY. The 1/1 swap of Randle for JJJ is a buy low opportunity that solidifies roster. JJJ had just as bad efficiency as Randle and Bridges last year, but I am inclined that all three will improve with a stronger squad and JJJ has better defensive chops (though a worse health history).
Also think KAT has an interesting fit there. But the package is a combination of Randle, Robinson and Achiuwa for an elite 5.
Not looking past Randle here, but it’s the next step. I think they need to consider the Brunson / Nova Knick brand and strike while the iron is hot.
My guess is Leon is thinking about the same thing we all thinking about: Sydney Sweeney’s tits

You rang...
Feel like we need a fuller sampling and evaluation period on Sweeney
The thread topic has officially changed. Requesting a title change.to "Chest booty."
Some of you guys are working on your forearms and wrist exercises today.

Why you gotta be a hater and limit it to just today?

this
He has stacked a legit contender on the table. He's thinking about Julius' contract and the Center position, but its September, he's done good work and he's earned the right to prioritize those bombs right now.
it is crazy to think about how many superficially enticing 5s have their own durability or other issues. I don't think Leon's going to disrupt any chemistry and loyalty unless it's a clear upgrade and i don't see a feasible option. He'll just monitor the situation, see what opportunities arise, and not force anything
