Knicks media day. So far Thibs and Brunson have spoken. Neither has said very much. Thibs stressed staying in the top 10 on offensive and defensive efficiency, the p-n-r, getting efficient high percentage shots on offense and our increased switch ability on defense. Brunson stressed winning is the only thing that matters and sort of laughed at reporters trying to get into the X’s and O’s.
Next up Hart. He starts by telling reporters not to ask him those dumb questions
Anunoby is becoming one of my all-time favorite Knicks!
Please stay healthy

I wonder how much more? I think all the current centers, excluding Hukport, could do decently in a switching defense.

Is that because they've traded everyone else?
This is a team built to win a title. The team before KAT was built to win 60 games in the regular season. The team with Kat is built to beat most any team. Being able to field 4 top notch shooters around Brunson will be wild. Maybe Josh squeaks in there... but you know what I mean.
Brunson/Kat will be the electric scorers for Thibs. You know he likes to feed those who like to eat. KAT's shooting and passing makes this as nasty a late game P&R combo as it gets.
Now the wings. Jesus Christ you got OG/Mikal/Josh/McBride to throw out there. It's like a woodchipper. The best part is they are all bucket getters. 3&D is an injustice to all 4 of these guy's games.
Then you got the who the phuck knows which is also really exciting.
Mitch returning is as wild an xfactor as you get. Either off the bench or pushing Josh out of the starting line up adding Mitch to the fold is such a nasty element (is he traded yet?)
Cam Payne is a solid vet with a bag and hit's the 3 at a high rate. Worst case this is a good depth signing. He will help and eat minutes during the year.
Precious played great last year and helped us win big games in big minutes. Not such a bad floor spacer now w/ Kat.
Sims. Who knows!
Also Tyler Kolek looks like a maniac in training and can learn from Brunson. I expect to see him after some gleague starts?
Reggie Bulluck is still a free agent, does he have anything left ? We got Burks back last season, defensive 3 and D guy for the deep bench ?

Wouldn't blame him if he's checked out. But I'm not sure how many payments he has left on that property.

Might need one final contract to pay the pool boys and gardeners
There is definitely a glaring hole at backup wing with an oft-injured Anunoby on the team. If we go into the season like this, IMO that means they see something in Dadiet. There's no one else back there.

Is OG the 3 or the 4?
Precious the back up 4 or 5?
Sims? He started at times last year.
Deuce might have a starting role with Josh off the bench.

you give Precious plenty of minutes at the 4 in that case, especially with KAT is on the floor.

I agree we need a wing. They do have two other guys back there - Jacob Toppin and Kevin McCullar. They also may bring back Marcus Morris eventually who's a 3-4-5. But this is why I said coaxing Gordon Hayward out of retirement for the veteran MLE makes sense because Hayward can shoot and has playmaking ability which is what the bench needs on the wing right now. Maybe you can settle for just shooting and add a Doug McDermott...
Also I wish we had an injury update on McCullar. Draft position aside, he was theoretically one of the more NBA ready players in the draft. Big program, lots of collegiate experience, strong effort on defense and intangibles. He's the kind of guy who can get on the floor and help with enough things while the rest of his game develops. Combination of Hart/Grimes type of play.
His Knee bruise kept him out of the NCAA Tourney AND summer league.
