3 FULL seasons in Minnesota - relationship questions aside, these are Towns best years statistically in the NBA and he finished in the top 7 in rebounding in each of the years:

He also averaged ~1.5 blocks per game in these 3 years. I'm not saying he's a beast defensively, but placement and position within Thibs defense will dictate a lot of what he produces. Playing next to Gobert and further from the basket, while guarding 4's, he's not being asked to rim protect. He's still a 7 footer with a lot of length and can be a viable basket deterrant/help over the top, especially with the wing defense we have with OG and Mikal.
"Towns under Thibs" sounds like a great title to a NYT best seller booklist of the month club extravaganza night for the granny ladies who will undoubtedly bring the expensive tea's to gab about how good the Knicks gonna be but still also get a bit prickly when the topic of Randle and January and lack or rim protection comes up. They will end the night at Black Silk's underground Chipendale 3 drink min night cause they excited about the season too and wanna celebrate like it's the 70's when they used to hang with Clyde and the gang.
I mentioned this on the Towns thread... KAT absolutely leveled up under Thibs just we have seen several (really all) of the key guys improve here.
I think there's upside to KAT with this team and coach. If you have paid attention Thibs does NOT push a system or style of play on players. You gotta defend and work hard. After that it's be the best version of you possible.
So I dont expect a different KAT, just the best version of him the league has seen. Also Thibs LOVES the 3 ball and the way he shoots it I fully expect there to be a career high for KAT. Will be interesting to see who (aside from Josh) steps up on the rebounding side
With Thibs, EVERYONE has to play defense.
Thibs talked about how he loves to play 5 out and open up possibilities for offensive rebounds.
He also mentioned how he is looking forward to Mitch getting back.
