Does Mobley get more credit because his team is playing for something, or does Daniels get the credit for continuing to show effort in the midst of a shit show? I lean Mobley.

Perhaps more so individual defense rating as compared to others.
Mobley plays next to Allen who himself might be the better defender?
Did Rudy not win next to KAT because it was Kat? Is Kats defensive rating worse this year because he has no rim protector behind him?

(5 pts.) 2nd
(3 pts.) 3rd
(1 pt.) Total Points

1 Dyson Daniels 6 3 3 42

2 Lu Dort 4 1 1 24

3 Draymond Green 2 2 2 18

4 Evan Mobley 0 4 1 13

5 Jaren Jackson Jr. 0 2 2 8

6 Jarrett Allen 1 0 0 5

T7 OG Anunoby 0 1 0 3

T7 Amen Thompson 0 0 3 3

9 Bam Adebayo 0 0 1 1

Source: Survey conducted by The Athletic of NBA coaches from April 5–22, 2025

survey says.......
Mobley.

Athletic did some player polls. Maybe they got up to like 130 or so responses on various questions.
I guess Bigdaddy go it right. Winning matters!!! It should. Thibs still gets votes for most over rated coach but it was a very short poll, maybe 70 players and perhaps he got 1 vote, so it was not a good one. Rivers and Bud got most votes.
NY times had a one year deal for free Athletic and then $7 a month after with my NY times subscription. I'll seee if the value is there after a year.

I don't mind paying actually. Free shit is garbage in the new era.

VDesai @ 4/25/2025 10:11 AM
I think Dyson got robbed! once Wemby stays healthy, he probably wins it every year after that.

Cavs add extra $8-10M in salary per year with Mobley's award. Now I'm happy he won!

martin @ 4/25/2025 11:23 AM
ha not for nothing but I'd guess Cavs ownership hoped this would NOT happen. They gonna be paying a lot of tax next year.

And I don't know what this will do to their long term depth.

I was going to cancel my Athletic subscription (more to do with my overall dissatisfaction with the Times overall coverage), but got sucked in when the Athletic offered me an annual fee of $10 to stay. I'll see how it shakes out, but I think I'm out next year.

I don't trust Martin with that money. He'll only use for OnlyFans. Scorebot has been neglected for how long now? How long before Martin's lifestyle lead to the complete disappearance of Andrew? Oh, wait...
