I'd like to say I'm sorry to see this, but deep down... I'm relieved. This dude kills us and I would've been very nervous about a Hawks playoff series. Now , I'm just a little nervous.

I don't think Fox is good for Wemby the way CP3 is. I mean, I think Wemby needs more HOF vets to just hold his and a bit and enable him. Once he gets his decision-making in place - you finish building that team around him. 3&Ds and a pass first PG. Maybe a vet C that can show him a few more tricks.

Yeah, but it implies that the NBA brand is equal or on par with the other leagues. Why would they do that. We could make MLB games 6 innings like little league games around the US too.

He is not fully advocating it get done. He said perhaps study. The main takaway I got was 2 hours for a TV event seems on par. Football and Baseball has clocks now to speed it up. I did not take he thought NBA was on par with FIBA, College, or Olympics, just that NBA has the longer games.
Given that all major sports are trying to get in the 2 hour thing, He might have a point.
Personally Im not down with it but perhaps I too am resistant to change also.
I know the league has to cater to the fan and the financial aspects which "Greed" is apparent when it conflicts with "tradition"
The shot clock in the NBA and later adapted by NCAA was to prevent a team with a lead just go into a stall mode. Funny that the ABA used a 30 second clock until its last season.
Baseball needed it to shorten the games as did Football.
Silver alone cannot do it. Its up to the owners. How would it effect TV? Fewer commercials but if ratings go up does that that compensates it?
My NBA League pass I get thru YouTubeTV no longer shows commercials. For the most part I use my DVR feature to capture every game and when I watch I start about an hour afterwards. Fast forward thru commercials and halftime.

Teams with huge pockets and fan base. They can refuse to renew with euroleague and become NBA teams when their deal is up.
They play 40min games. Now, not saying I like it. But other TV markets are used to 2 hour games.

Avg game is like 2hrs 13-18 minutes. one or the other. Sorry I forget the exact time used. 20 min for TV time outs and halftime.

Im being objective and have no opinion. Part of me does not like change but part of me recognizes its a business and pro sports does change over time.
An empty suit commish does nothing. But real change is not something everyone likes.

Overtime rules?
Hockey games end in ties?
14 second shot clock then a reset?
Video replay to challenge calls?
Endorsements on uniforms? That was sacrilege.
Arenas with sponsors names on it?
Players on same team have different color shoes?
etc etc....
We may not like things but we get used to them.
Records and history will be changed. That I don't like. I like when records are broken.
