I was not really impressed with TJ Warren. He's a vet but kind of reminds me of Taj at this stage which is just a smart vet who's not gonna make mistakes but just kind of bland in what he's able to do now. FWIW the new beat writer for the Athletic said he believes if they drop Shamet they will find someone new and probably unlikely to promote Warren. Covington would be a good fit off the bench and as an injury sub for Mikal/OG. Dougie McBuckets is a good fit as well if we want more scoring.

McDermott is with the Kings now. And I heard Covington is pretty bad now. I think it’s either Marcus Morris or staying in house.

I mean, up to me, I’m inclined if they were going to give him the spot, do it regardless of his injury.
Bruh we just traded Randle a day after he donated a million dollar court to NYC and had all the Knick ambassadors join him for the event, and Donte before the Nova boys reunion ever kicked off. If Shamet is out for awhile he's gone.
It's brutal but you are spot on. IMHO this is exactly how Leon thinks.
So I haven't heard anyone even mention Jacob Toppin stepping up. I'm guessing he's never going to crack the rotation

What? We didn't trade him to Indiana for 2 3rd round picks?

Good point. Jacob is a tweeter. Not enough power for the 4 and his handle/passing lacks for the 3? Im guessing. If there is no path he should move on.
If we were looking for a sub until him or Dad-Diet emerges I could understand.
We don't know the diagnosis and thus the recover time. Was it his shooting shoulder? Is Surgery involved. If so, if its a labrum he is done for most of the season. I understand his contract was not picked up but don't Knicks still have to rehab him? Insurance?
WHo just just got cut that perhaps we coveted at some point? Morris is not the same player he was 5 years ago.
Do we see Dadiet get major minutes tonite as an audition? What's been his play in practice/scrimmage? Same with Toppin.
Good catch bringing him up as a topic. My only issue with his form was his release point on long shots. By contrast look at Mikal's, its very high and with that wingspan it makes it very hard to block.
Off topic, Lamelo Ball and Cam Paynes looks like they 6th graders needing the leg thrust to reach the basket. Obviously they making millions and im typing on a forum as if I know better!
Back on point, mcdermit just signed with Sac so he is off the market for now. Be great if we can promote from within.

This is the exact same thing they said about Randle.
Guess we'll keep Shamet then.
Hoping Kolek gets an opportunity in the rotation.

Exactly. You can't believe anything the Knicks say about injuries. Randle failed his comeback test weeks before we heard anything about it. They keep things a secret so they don't give up leverage for trades and other reasons. Mitch being gone until next year did not leak until after we traded for KAT.
Wow, tough decision by FO.
Also means they have new player target.

Does this read that if Knicks go 30 days without Shamet they could in theory sign him again at a $450K (30 days * $15K) discount?
Expanding the amount of space they sit below the 2nd apron by $450K?
