Knicks · We’re Seriously Starting the Season With 10 Healthy Playets (page 1)

I guess Kolek and Dadiet are going to play off the bench. Maybe Hukporti and Toppin are activated? 2 way players are allowed 50 games with the team. That gives us 12 bodies. What is McCullar’s deal already. What about Skapintsev? Is he back with Westchester.
Knixkik @ 10/21/2024 10:06 AM
Yup the one thing about the Towns trade is we are boxed into a financial corner. Mitch trade might be necessary to get a few bucks back. For example if we can swap him for Rob Williams or Steven Adams (plus whatever the draft comp is), we can get back a usable big plus get back a couple million to sign a real player to add to the mix.

This is how you win a chip. No guarantees and you need good health.
Might not be this year.
Had we not traded for KAT not like we had a better path. Sure we had more flex, but Leon was saving it for an opportunity.
Like Donovan Mitchell.
Or Brunson.
Or DDV.
Etc.

WE down to 10 healthy. We only play 9 max anyway.
Other teams will have issues too during a season.

Do we even have 9 rotation players? Right now, atleast, we have 5 healthy starters but our bench is a mess. We have 7 MBA players, Sims who’s a scrub and some guys with zero nba experience

Can he come back? CBA has rules for this?

I don’t think a player who is traded can be re-acquired in the same season.

Knixkik @ 10/22/2024 8:47 AM
Hard to believe we are going into the season with only 3 bench players who have played in an nba game before, but it is what it is. If we added Mitch and Achiuwa to this depth chart I would feel great about the depth, so just need to ride it out.

Me to but then there’s Archidiacano. Maybe it’s 6 months?

We are prime to pick up someone via Waivers incase of emergency. Taj is usually that guy.
We need a new Taj or Herb Williams.

If its time to play rooks that have no NBA experience better early than later. Young teams lack experienced and talented players. Note when GSW, Heat, and other great teams of the past bring in young players they do well and we like "Why can't we do that". When teams rebuild with just young players more times than not its a tough process.
WE have experienced talent! Mixing in rooks with high end players could protect deficiencies and at the same time a great learning process. If it don' work and we lose some games, well thats part of a long season too!
When we bought in RJ, Frank, and Knox were were not rostered like we are now. You bring those guys in as rooks they might not play, but if they did they are on the court with much better players than what we had.

Bringing in players who have not practiced or know the system are not quick fixes either. Waiver cast offs are not quick fixes. I'd think we promote from Westchester.

You roll with what you got. There is an upside also to consider.

Cormac Ryan was waived by OKC. Undrafted Rookie. Plays hard and can shoot. Great energy off of the bench and from NYC. At 25 he’s no kid anymore. He played well in SL

Edit - I like him as a 2 way if we are going to waive Toppin or McCullar
